So recently I was having a serious, drunken discussion with our very own, beloved Fluffernutter. (Alright I was drunk. He was sober) We were talking about the downward spiral Metallica has seemed to be on in recent years and the little bits of info we know about their upcoming release. The upshot is that we decided Metallica had earned their shot at redemption. You have to respect their early work enough to give them a chance.
Fast forward a few days and I'm flicking around the old goggle box and what should I see but James Hetfield and Rob Trujillo just wailing away in an MTV Icon ad. 'Cool', I say to myself, 'Looks like they may finally be back to kickin' ass', and I breathe a sigh of relief. Then the shot cuts to Lars playing the drums. 'Oh shit!' Lars has gone the way of many a homosexual and dyed his hair. He is now a blonde.
I don't know if I can deal with this. I mean, I love Metallica as much as anyone, and I'm willing to forgive the haircuts, and Load, and Reload and the Napster shit if the new album is as good as it seems it's going to be, but this may be too much, man. Lars has turned into such a whiny little pussy, faggy, ballsmoking, faggy, hair-dying, faggy, phony, faggy fag fag that I'm finding it really difficult to have any respect for him at all. I don't know, man, I feel betrayed or something.

Yeah, Blakjeezis, I really know what you mean. I think it's gonna be okay though, I just downloaded some stuff from Kazaa, like four songs that I think are from the new album. I'm listening to them now, and they seem pretty heavy and kick ass, so I think we're gonna be alright. Well two are cool, the others I don't think are Metallica. But what're you gonna do?

They are such a lost cause. When I saw them in 1997 at MSG, they did their little "Cunning Stunt" with the guy on fire and the stage burning up. This led to the stripped down accoustic set which sucked. Last Caress accoustic. 'Nuff said. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I gave them another chance in 1998 at Giants Stadium. They did another accoustic set without any fires or explosions. Four Hosemen accoustic. I said then and I say now that I will never see Metallica live again. I will stay at home and crank my Kill Em' All and Ride the Lightning CD's at home and remember the band that was once the best metal band alive. I don't care if they cut their hair, dye it, or wear afro wigs. The music what matters. I'll probably buy the CD just to keep the collection going, but I will not shell out 50 bucks to see them.

Unless the new cd is 20 songs that sound like "One", "Sad But True", Master of Puppets", or "No Leaf Clover", i wont buy it. And it better be no more than 15 bucks damnit, if its 16 it can kiss my ass.

Hair color is of no matter to me as I have all colors of the rainbow and they don't affect the sounds coming out of my speakers.

Load, I cried like a little bitch because i though tit just was not so. I returned it the next day but then bought it two more times down the road (once after destroying it again) becasue there were some songs I liked.

I won't justify anything with them beside the fact that there was change and my favorite band that I used to use my curtain rods to play drums along with on my bed I found were no more.

Then i heard the brilliant rendition of Mercyful Fate songs in their medley and regained some faith but not all of it. I just said, ok, they can still play fast and thrash a bit too.

Ugh. The new album. I hear from some of my sources that is is "heavy as hell" and "fast as shit" and "old school" and "will not dissapoint". As excited as I want to be, I am having a hard time with it. I will buy it cheap no doubt and will listen. Then will the final decision be made.

That's not the point. It's what the dye job represents. It's all about image these days, and Lars is the worst of them. Kirk is still the man, I think James reluctantly goes along with Lars because, well I don't know why. I just refuse to accept that he's become a douchebag. This man, I respected. I've gone off the trail a bit here.
The point I'm trying to make is no matter how great the album is, how much of a return to the glory days it is, Lars is still a bitch. Part of the magic, in addition to the great music, of Metallica was the fuck you, take no prisoners, we'll get where we're going on our own terms attitude. Now that is gone, and Lars' faggot-ass hairdo, that I'm sure his stylist suggested, is the epitome of that loss.

Thats so funny Fluffernutter. I like mostly old Metalica...I think their newer stuff like Load isn't as good. Wouldn't it be the funniest kick in the pants to hardcore metal heads if Lars came out.haha
