Ladies, I'd like your opinion on this situation.

I have an ex-girlfriend that I am still friends with. Every once in a while we meet for drinks and have fun time (we will not be getting back together - just one of those things).

Today she asked me what I was doing for the weekend. I have two benefits to go to. She asked why I didn't invite her and I told her that it's just my close friends getting together to help one friend and remember another.

She was insulted that I did not consider her a close enough friend to invite her. Now she doesn't even want to talk to me.

Keep in mind, I see her once every three or four months or so but we keep in touch through email occasionally.

I feel I've done nothing wrong. I want to tell her to get over herself and possibly even end the friendship because this is just bullshit that this even bothers me, but hell, call me sensitive. Damn I hate that.

Anyway - I'd like to get a woman's opinion on this. (Because all the guys are thinking what I'm thinking - Fuck it) But maybe I'm missing something.

I don't think you should have to explain yourself to her at all. Your relationship is in the past. Just let it go and if she gets over it (which she probably will), great, if not, then it's time to end the friendship anyway. It's very hard to maintain a relationship with an ex and girls are just stupid sometimes. You've really done nothing wrong so don't waste anymore stress over it.

in my experience, i've found out that girls freak out over the smallest of things. basically, something not really important to you could mean a lot to them in their minds. not sure if this really applies to the situation, but the moral is, girls are weird.
