There are a ton of them coming out and lots of them have been successes. X-Men allowed the return of the comic book movie to enter in full force showing that it is now possible to bring these larger than life characters to the screen. Spider-Man, Daredevil, Blade, and soon The Hulk, Iron Fist, the X-Men sequel, and in the comming years, Spider-Man II: The Amazing Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, The Punisher, and many other Marvel Comics adaptations. DC Comics will quite possibly have it's fair share of comic movies with another Batman and Superman movie in the works. I as a comic book fan love that we can finally see what is on the pages of these comics come alive on the screen. What are your thoughts?

Sub-Mariner will no doubt be the first Marvel movie to flop. F4 needs a huge budget to made right. Ghostrider could happen but it has to be Johnny Depp. IronMan needs to happen not with Tom Cruise though.

nicholas cage was very interested in doing Ghost Rider, and Tom Cruise is not the best choice for Iron Man, any other ideas?

Tom Cruise is not the best choice for Iron Man

He's not? Tony Stark=arrogant, flawed, handsome celebrity playboy.

And exactly WHICH part is Cruise not up for?

Puddy.

Superman's a big, clueless, self-righteous goofball, and he should be played by one.

Tom cruiz is a closted homo with braces. he cant be iron man. Tony Stark Has to have more of a latin look, but not southamerican more anglo like from Spain, or Italy. he also has to be an older actor in his mid 30s Iron mans suit is the life suport of tony. picture razor ramone without the acent and not a dirty drug adict. i got a couple in my head but i dont know there names. as long as its not tom cruiz. Nick cage is a slap nuts actor. there is one emotion on his face. Even when hes happy, sad, upset, angry, depressed his face never changes. he also only has 1 good movie and thats the Rock. and come one that was made what 8 years ago. Ghost rider just needs a young actor who can look good on a motor cycle. CG Can take care of the rest. he is a skelton with a flaming head and the god of vengence.

Marvel's movies do well because they actually take the time to hire talented people to make the films.

Meanwhile, D.C. continues to fuck with its franchises horribly (who here read the Superman script with Luthor as a Kryptonian? "And then Luthor flies!" I WIPED MY ASS WITH IT.). The only thing D.C. can do right is animated programs.

Well let's take a look at some of the Marvel vs DC comic book Movies.

DC:
THe First and Second Batman and Superman

Misses:
Steel, 3rd and 4th Batman and Superman

Marvel:
X-Men, Blade and Spiderman

Misses:
Fantastic 4, Captain America, Punisher

I will even say Daredevil was better than I thought it'd be.

X-2 and the Hulk look pretty good so far and I don't think DC has anything good on the horizon but I did hear about Preacher. But DC could do a Flash or a Green Lantern too.

Can you really count these as badly as DC's misses? the FF movie was never officially released in any format, and I believe the latter two were only released straight to video...

Yeah but Marvel did approve them to be actually made. Weither the releases where straight to video or not, Marvel had to give its okay for them to go out. That's good enough for me.

I'm glad the Silver Surfer movie got deep sixed. Too much CGI. He'd end up looking goofy because to save money they'ed cut corners.

Everyone always forgets "Dr. Strange." I guess that's a good thing...

Wasn't the Dr. Strange film a TV movie?

And Hoojibs, I blame ToyBiz more for those films than anyone else...DC has at least been owned by Time-Warner for almost a good 20 years...Marvel had a toy company OK-ing all of their movie decisions in the 90's...

I wasn't aware that Marvel had Toybiz making all those decisions. Thanks for the heads up Mojo.

At least Marvel is on track now with their movies, now.

X-men has 2 additional sequels on the way. The guy who played Sabertooth said he was in the next 2 sequels. Since he's not in this one...he's in 3 and 4.

Hulk 2 is ready has a sequel in the works.

Spiderman 2 is being filmed and I believe there is a 3 on the way.

I'm waiting for some new Marvel character movies to come out.

okay in my opinion here are some movies that could work

Superman: I completely agree with Mojo, Puddy is Superman

Flash: Only if its Wally West and only if you play him off like the earlier years of his career as a smartass lady hustler...my picks here are matt damon or guy pierce

Green Lantern: This movie would work if they used either Hal or Kyle, but id prefer Kyle and the actor would have to be the guy from Count of Monte Cristo, cant remember his name.

100 Bullets: Jason Statham is Agent Graves. Azzarello writes the script and this movie could be oscar bound.

Ghost Rider: Again as said, you need Depp, Cage wouldnt do either host justice

Batman Year One: if it sticks to the comic, and you use the dude from Angel, this could work.

now i havent heard any news on Preacher who do they plan on using cause i always thought Ed Norton would be good in the lead.
