my favorite theory is that grateful dead shows used to start at 4:30, so the best time to smoke was 4:20 :)

All I've heard is that it was the police code for weed, like 187 is for murder. And I understand this are only LA codes because our official board cop says those aren't the NY codes.

I wouldn't dream of going to work high...but there's nothing wrong with leaving work high. 4.20 is the perfect time to spark up.
