View Full Version : I am SICK of the South Park creators preaching their political ideas.

Give it a REST you 2 fags.
OK. So I noticed it with their episode a couple of weeks ago when Cartman was trying to have a flashback to see what our founding fathers were living like. It was also the show they decided to preach to us about all the people who were anti or pro war in Iraq.
So their message that both sides of the argument have a place in our democracy wasn't a bad one. But Cartman sitting there listening to Benjamin Fraklin saying that America would set up this sneaky, calculated policy where we could protest a war and then fight it with no questions was insulting. I believe they used the old phrase "having your cake and eating it too." They suggested out founding fathers were only thinking of covering their asses when building the foundation of our free society. This is insulting.
Then last night they used their entire episode to push a little joke about the American Indians. They were pushing White People out of their homes just like Whites did to them, putting them on reservations. I understand this happened, but I don't need the sermon.
If this continues, I will abandon this cartoon. Stoned towels are great. People with ass faces are cool. Aliens, Jews, Whore, Chef. All cool.
KEEP YOUR PREACHING OUT OF IT!!

Unlike some in the censorship crowd, I DON'T want things I don't agree with to be pulled off the air.
I am just complaining that this seems like a new thing they're doing to dedicate a WHOLE EPISODE to a political agenda. If you can site older episodes that were TOTALLY dedicated to one political agenda please remind me. Even if you can, it doesn't matter. I don't like it.
I don't tune into South Park for the news, and I don't watch the news for Dick Jokes.
Is this so WRONG that I just want to laugh like I used to instead of having to digest their political jabs and jokes? It's like those "very Special" episodes of sitcoms.
Remember when The Fresh Prince's real dad came back and Will cried in Uncle Phil's arms at the end? Just make me LAUGH funny men! This is my problem with these new South Park episodes.

Parker and stone have always given thier stance on all kinds of subjects in all of thier stuff, Baseketball was a satire of the entire state of professional sports in America.
And on South Park, They've tackled Pro-Choice, Reverse Racism, Stem Cell Research, Celebrities w/ political agendas, The Election Debacle in Florida, Sexual Harrasment, oversensitivity, Surpressed memories, Foster children, Child abductions and overprotection and The Phantom Menace....
...to name a few
and these have been the main story in thier respective episodes...

OK, thank you. I was waiting for a list to refresh my memory.
Let's take for example the episode of South Park where they were fighting about the racist South Park flag. At the end, instead of preaching to us, they joked about it by showing a flag with more than one race hanging a black man who now had a smily face.
As for the Stem Cell research episode, the whole thing was more of a joke and satire of Superman movies then a statement for or against Stem Cell research.
When they try to teach us THEIR lesson I feel preached to and kinda talked down to. I don't like it.

The movie's underlying theme was that war is a bad thing, which we all knew anyway. We ALL hate war, we just disagreed as of late on what the best way to get rid of Saddam was.
At the end, instead of preaching Satan threw Saddam into hell and Terrance and Phillip were ressurected. It was full of fun, jokes and well written songs. This doesn't really fit the new mold I've sited.

no FIve, you said I should just switch the channel like I hadn't already. That also points to censorship in my view.
And I am not on Bush's nuts Wormwood. If agreeing with a person is being on their nuts, I guess that plants your mouth firmly on whoever's nuts you agree with. Kiss your Mother with that mouth? South Park is still funny through the political slants, usually. I just found these last few episodes I mentioned in my 1st post to be apart from that funnyness. If that is actually a word.
It seems a majority of you disagree with me. That's why I asked the question. It might just be me. I still don't fell you all have convinced me to anything other that the point I already agreed with to not watch a show I didn't like.

Wow. that's what you think the theme of the south park movie was? Dude, at the end, freakin Kyle spells it out for you!
the theme is that we live in a "blaming society," where instead of taking responsibility for our actions, we put the blame on a scapegoat (as the mothers' did on Terrance and Phillip, and subsequently canada)
And btw: Parker and Stone are staunch republicans.

Hey man, don't go preaching your view on the movie. If he didn't get that out of the movie, it's obviously the movie's fault...haha
Moe, Censorship doesn't mean you change the channel. Censorship refers to others deciding for you what can be on, off, acceptible or not. There's no such thing as self-censorship....that is simply taste, prefence and free will to choose.

i can understand moe not being a fan of it. i myself like the political and worldly commentary they put in their episodes, but i can see how others wouldn't.
they don't do it all the time but they do it a lot, they have a lot of great ideas they put in their episodes. but i definetley see how the longer the show goes on the more issues they tackle.
it's probably the way the shows going so i would say either get used to it or just stick with the simpsons.

I still don't want preaching from my entertainment all the time.
I also can't believe that after all the censorship talk, some moron STILL left a Change the Channel reply. Try READING the posts before yours chief.
I DESPISE Oprah, but don't want her off the air. That's America. There are a lot of people who keep her on the air, and they deserve to see a show they agree with and enjoy.
South Park still is a show I like, but if they continue down this road they have set out on, I will find my fun elsewhere.
That is the last time I explain myself. If you didn't get it after this 4th or 5th time you have a learning disability. Contact Horde King for advice on getting help.

Wow, I remember when I was young and naive, too...

Having seen the episode like 4 more times over the weekend, I think I might have been a little harder on that episode because it wasn't that funny.
Ahhh repetition.
Did you like the episode Moe...Moe replies: Yes...SARS is not dangerous. Now I must order some items that I noticed in commercials...haha

If you'd get a job, there might be less time for you to be offended by cartoons.

I understand this happened, but I don't need the sermon.
its america.. if you dont like it you could geeet out
