thios movie was so good i went twice. this is on of the best movies i ever saw. they made all the characters so fukin nasty. wolvi is the bomb shit. nothing could be better then his fights. him just killing an entire army is worth the price of admission. death strike is a cunt. what a fukin bitch, but that fight was awsome, what with the stabbing and making her shoot metal out her face. Colosus was so good he only needed to be in 2 min of the movie. THats how fukin nasty he was. NIghtcrawler was exceltn. mystiqu ,storm, and jean all went to the next level of fukin nasty. that was a close to the comic as your gonna get. Fuking prof x and magento are nastiest i ever saw. those fukin powers were the bomb shit. i cant wait for the next one Jeans gonna be the pheonix, and that means the dark pheonix is coming. did you see at the end the lake had the beginging of the pheonix out line coming towrd the surface

I doubt it is the greatest summer movie, since summer isn't here yet. I did like the movie though, since it wasn't the Wolverine show.

ok all have to say is who wouldnt be afraid of nightcrawler now, seeing how he can take out droves of people without even blinking, had he really wanted to, everyone in the white house couldve died, and no one wouldve been able to stop him, this movie proves to me without a shadow of a doubt that NightCrawler would kick wolverines ass.

Yeah, but it looked cool as hell.
After seeing it again, I have some concerns. There are way too many homoerotic scenes in this film. From Cyclops having N-Sync in his car, to Cyclops nearly laying a big fat kiss on Professor X to Cyclops and Wolverine feeling each other up to that illuionist wheelchair kid's gender issues, I think we've gone into the GAY zone.

I thought of more gay moments. How about when Mystique is in Wolverine's tent and morph's into Stryker. Definite sexual tension. As well, Magneto and Pyro were giving each other sexual looks. It's a conspiracy of the Gays!

You know what sucks though? The way they are trying to keep the series grounded in the real world, I don't think we will end up seeing characters like Mojo, Mr. Sinister, or Apocalypse. Oh, how I would love to see Apocalypse.
On the plus side, if Fox is willing to shell out the money, with the way the series os heading I think we will eventually see Sentinels.

Well, since they're teasing "Dark Phoenix," They can't possibly do it without introducing Lilandra and the Shi'ar Imperial guard...
This movie kicked so much ass, it's not even funny. I almost had a heart attack when all those mutant's names came up on the computer Mystique was using, and then the seperate file for Franklin Richards! great, great little details...

I got good news and bad news on this one.
First of all, I really liked X2, I think it's so far one of the best movies I've seen this year.
I agree with everyone else that Colussus was a little too much of a tease, I wish he had a bigger role. I also happened to like Nightcrawler. I've seen various critics say he was annoying and I don't see it.
On to the bad news, while I was watching Logan break into Cyclops ride, someone outside the NASSAU mall decided to break into my car and take all my music, my cellphone, and sunglasses. Not a big deal on the music, but the cell and sunglasses weren't cheap. I already cancelled my cell service, so now I have to go back out and shop for another phone tomorrow. This sucks, though the movie rocked.

well if you saw the post a couple of weeks ago on comic book movies, i also hated the fist X-Men. However, I have to say i loved this one. It's ten times better.
Although it seems funny saying it, the realism factor made it much better. Usually in comic book movies every hero needs to be a pacifistic pussy. When Wolverine killed the first soldier, the theatre actually universally gasped. I don't think anyone expected that wolverine would actually fight back. I know going into the movie i expected that only "bad" mutants like pyro were going to be the ones who were killing police. Luckily, the makers of the movie weren't stupid.
I'm now back on the X-Men bandwagon. If this movie had sucked i wouldn't have seen the third one, but now i'm going to be waiting (probably a good two years) for the next one.

And about the whole "iron in the blood thing"...don't we have iron and copper in our blood to begin with? You'd think Magneto would just be able to cause them to seize up or have an "attack" or something without the injection...
But overall I enjoyed this flick. A big, fun dumb movie for a big, dumb fun comic. The first one only had its moments, but it got all of the "introductions" out of the way, which let this film go hog-wild...though the reflection in the water at the end is the biggest goddamn tease in the history of teases...though I think this series would actually suffer if they threw in the Sh'iar nonsense (IMO, the weakest parts of the comic)...the movies have worked because they emphasize the very human problems of fear, racism, bias, war, what we can't control and even terrorism...you throw in some purple douche with a mohawk and it kinda kills things.

-namor or aquaman swimming with dolphins at the end water scene
-david bana in the backseat of one the police cars

Water moving as fast as the water from a broken dam can't be frozen. Too much kinetic movement.
I think they'll forego all the space shit and the Shi'ar for the third movie. Stryker went from being a priest to the archetect from Weapon X, why can't they focus on the Hellfire Club and leave out Lilandra?
And from yesterday's Dark Horizons....
X3: Halle is out and Bryan will step to the side, Alan, Daniel, Shawn & Rebecca are back - what about Hugh Jackman then one has to wonder. The actor seems interested but won't commit fully as yet according to The Chicago Sun Times - "I'm sure they're planning 'X3,' and all I can say is I love this character. There's so much more meat on the bone than you would ever hope to get out of a movie like this and it's great fun. You have all the action, too. Of course, my agent says, 'Never say definitely yes, Hugh!". The article also hints at least one blooper we may see on the X2 DVD - Singer in a Jean Grey costume and Hugh smooching. Thanks to 'Arbitor' & 'Micah'.
Personally, I don't feel Halle added much to the movies anyway (nor do I think she's much of an actress), but at least Singer and DeSantos will still be producing, to keep the movie on the right track.

And thus endeth "X-Men". While I thought script and character-wise the first two "Batman" films blew multiple goats, I loved Burton's visual styles and I think he got the "look" of the settings and characters dead to rights. But then he went and bailed after the second film, only stayed on as a producer, and look what happened...

I can't wait to see this movie a second time. X-Men was the first comic I got wrapped into the story, and was my favorite in that time. I remember being on the edge of my seat reading as Jean Grey became the Phoenix, started to be twisted to "the Dark side", and the final deciding battle in that story. The Brood saga was another masterpiece....I wonder how well that would translate over to film.
shamus, you make an excellent point. In the comics, Wolverine used his claws frequently but rarely seemed to kill (humans, at least). That first kill did catch everyone in the theater by surprise (including me!), yet it made absolutely perfect sense.
I enjoyed how well Nightcrawler came across. Not only well-acted but well-written. He had much more presence than he did in the books. I would like to have seen Colossus more a part of the movie, but the little they gave us was outstanding!! Mystique is a little too annoyingly superhuman, but then her shapeshifting should do more than just allow her to look like other people.
One question...with Wolverine and Colossus, why were they running from those soldiers? They could have made short work of the entire commando team!

What's the "FF" for? "Fantastically Faggy"? "Frantically Flammable"?
I believe its Freedom Force.
As for Wolverine, he killed a LOT of people in the comic books. What books did you read? I'm glad Singer limited his kills to stabbing vs the actual removal of limbs which is well within his abilities.

wolvie killed hundreds if not thousands.....he's lived through 3 generations. he worked for the CIA, the canadian gov't, took part in WW2, and went feral for like 10 years. yea hes killed a few men....the movie pictured it perfectly, realistically he wouldnt have had time to really go nuts on any one victim.....

You mean the one love triangle? I must have missed any others.
I think he is talking about the obvious one between Jean, Logan, and Scott. The other one is Iceman, Rogue, and Wolverine. It appears to me that Rogue has the hots for Wolverine and Bobby senses that. Wolverine is more protective of her than in love with her.
The scene in the tent with Mystique was very cool. Imagine dating a woman like that; the key would be to have her change into other women without her thinking you are bored with her.
We need everyone to keep spreading the word about Ron and Fez. Get you friends, coworkers, hell anyone you talk to get them to listen.

I didn't see the Iceman/Rogue/Wolvie as a love triangle. To me, Rogue loved Wolvie more as a parental figure, and Wolvie definitely didn't have those feelings for her. Iceman was jealous of her feelings towards Logan, but he's a teenager, that shit happens.

Finally saw the movie today. It was an improvement on the first and sets itself up nicely for a sequel. Time to get rid of Storm though.
I didn't see anything, I didn't hear anything, I wasn't there and if I was there I was asleep.

Magneto and Pyro were giving each other sexual looks
Not surprising since McKellan is gay in real life. I thought the movie was kick ass on every level and while I love Halle she lent nothing to either movie so having her leave isn't a bad thing nor is it a good thing because who'd notice. Storms powers were cool though. This movie did what even the COMICS couldn't do. It turned Nightcrawler into a legit badass. And as far as Scott and Wolvie holding each other and crying, I'd like to see any of you reman stoic and manly should you lose someone really close to you.
Drugs weed out the weak and dependent.
