ps2 network adapter

has anyone bought this online adapter for ps2 yet. i saw it in the circuit city and it was only 40 bucks so i was thinking about picking it up but i have some questions. I have a cable connection so does it go faster than a 56k hookup. Also is it hard to set up cuz i suck with setting up that type of stuff. and finally i really want to get this just for madden so has anyone played madden online.

I have it. I works great. It's easy to set up, especially with a cable connection. The setup disc basically does it all by itself.

I've rarely had troubles with lag. If you just stick the higher rated connections you'll be fine. And with games like SOCOM, they don't even allow dial-up connections. So lag isn't really a concern. I've played online with Madden 2003 and Twisted Metal Black Online, and they both work fine.

also how do u work it out with playing aginst your friends? do they need to be on a certain server

are there any games that use it besides socom and madden? besides the free mail-away Twisted Metal (there's a form with the adapter).

I enjoy Socom, don't have Madden, but I've heard really good things.
