Dickey Betts To Teach Guitar Class At Rock Hall
Dickey Betts, the former Allman Brothers Band singer-guitarist, will play teacher next month at the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame and Museum in Cleveland. Betts has been recruited to teach a Gibson Master Class on guitar playing, which will take place on June 3rd. Betts' class will focus on style and technique, though he'll also talk about his career and offer a brief solo performance. Singer-songwriter Lee Roy Parnell will moderate the session. Betts, a founding member of the Allman Brothers, left the band in 2000. Since then he's put together his own group which he's recorded and toured with. He's also revived the name Great Southern, the band he played with when the Allmans broke up in the late '70s.
Betts plays Saturday (May 10th) in Winder, Georgia. He kicks off a summer tour on June 18th in Buffalo, New York.
