I just saw a comercial for Anaconda on Sci-Fi and suddenly Jennifer Lopez gets top billing. School Ties was totally a Brendan Frasier movie, but suddenly Afflek and Damon's names are next to his in the billing. The movie Satisfaction was totally a Justine Bateman vehicle, but Julia Roberts now gets top billing (and occassionally a completely different title).

It's not like these are small movies from the beginning of their careers, but movies that were fairly large when they came out, but these actors had secondary parts in. I don't know why, but it just annoys me.

"The Quick and the Dead". AWFUL Sharon Stone movie, but Russell Crowe has a small part.

Hey! True, Stone sucks righteously hard in it, but I love that film. It's the one mainstream film where Sam Raimi goes almost as apeshit cinematically as he did with the "Evil Dead" films...plus it has Hackman (The greatest living actor) as the baddest, coldest stone-cold badass that ever hit the Old West.

Gotta love that camera shot through the hole in Keith David's head. And Keith David rules. Coolest voice in film today.

Totally agree. It's an American Spaghetti Western, with elements of High Noon, The Gunfighter, and The Seven Samurai.

Jack Nicholson in "Little Shop of Horrors" (original)

If you blink, you'll miss him.

ON TV, I think it's to ensure ratings and/or viewership.

As far as UHF is concerned, Michael Richards' part is rather large enough to warrant a mention with Weird Al, so I'm going to disagree. If they top-bill Fran Drescher, on the other hand (*cringing in pain*), THEN I will get upset. I can't stand her.

You ever notice that it's usually when their career is either (a) taking a nose-dive or (b) in promotions for a new movie ? For example, I noticed that Encore & Starz were showing Renee Zellweger movies non-stop after the Oscars. . . and John Cusack movies are starting to have an up-swing on TV. . .
