A new letter writing campaign has begun, and we will once again flood the WNEW mailroom (yes, they are still legally WNEW) with letters and postcards! Before some of you say it's a waste of time, remember this: we are dealing with a huge corporation and EVERY opinion counts! Also remember that the Infinity Radio Division of Viacom just suffered a financial loss, and that one of our previously "targeted" Executives, John Fullam, is gone. Things will be getting uglier at Infinity and we must not go away quietly, especially now.
I have been informed by a good source that the person we contact is Scott Herman, General Manager of WINS and WNEW. Mr. Herman is well respected and has TONS of influence on programming. We don't expect R&F back soon but in this industry anything can happen and remember, "FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS"!
So join in the fun, vent your spleen and start writing! Letters, postcards, even calls.

I know many of us have been lax lately and it seems like it's a foregone conclusion that Ron and Fez are gone from New York, but nothing is certain in the radio biz and it can only help if we all took a few minutes to send off another round of letters.

How about if everybody used oversized, bright colored envelopes ?? It does get attention over regular sized plain white ones............or just write "Bring back Ron & Fez to NYC" boldly on the backs with your favorite color crayon.

Thanks HK. It's really no big deal. I'm a child of the 60's when activism was a way of life.
Besides, I love to complain, especially when my favorite radio show is taken away from me.
"Squeaky wheel gets the oil" right?
It's an uphill battle and all of this positive stuff contradicts my fatalist nature but hey, we gotta do the right thing here, regardless of the outcome.
So "keep on keepin' on"!

I've continued to write letters and we should also remember to write to Steve Kingston; WNEW's new gm.

Plus, I've said this before and I'll say it again; we always have a great opportunity after every Bar 9. There's a lot of us in one group and we could simply waltz over to WNEW or CBS which are both merely blocks away and stage a vocal protest. Maybe I'll start a thread but the last time it got three replies. Oh fuck it, I'm starting one.
