Only a handful of days away from the most anticipated movie of 2003 (in my opinion, anyway)...anyone getting advanced tickets? I'm going to be online like a Star Wars nerd...

The vibe in the theater is gonna be awesome!

I wish I had advanced tickets for this one. My bud tried to get some, but couldn't. We might watch the original Matrix this week, then check out Reloaded at the theater.

Just got back from the Matrix Reloaded. Gotta say it was a bit of a disappointment. The fighting and action scenes blew me away, but a lot of the rest sucked. I actually was hoping that Zion was destroyed. Every scene that took place the SUCKED. That dance-orgy-sex scene was one of the most awkward things I have ever seen. Here are some more things that sucked:

Mr. Miyagi-Keymaster. He was more funny than anything.
Keanu Reeves ass shots. No more. I PLEAD, no more.
Cliffhanger ending. That wasn't even a good cliffhanger. It was more of a "I guess we ran out of time so let's end it here" ending.
Revolutions trailer. the one on the Internet was better.

I like to think of myself as a smart man who can keep up with fast talking jargon. But someone please tell me what happened with Neo and the old guy in that room. About halfway through that scene I turned into drooling invalid staring at the pretty colors. But according to the door he walked into, shouldn't have something else happened? I am confused.

And I think the Wachowski's just threw out all the rules of the Matrix. I mean, what is with all these frickin programs and why the hell aren't they all on the same page! The ending explained it somewhat, but I am still VERY VERY confused. I know there are loose ends, but I don't understand the stuff I'm supposed to understand. I'm never confused after seeing a film, but this film was way too convoluted.

But, the action scenes rocked, and they rocked hard. They alone are worth seeing. Especially the Neo vs. Agent Smiths battle. The trailer only scratched the surface of that battle.

If you are going to see it, I suggest going in half an hour late. You won't miss anything.

So, it was a bit of a disappointment, but its not bad as the action scenes save it. However, X2 was WAY better.

TheMojoPin
05-14-2003, 09:24 PM
Sounds about right. Everyone seems to forget how downright hokey and corny the first one was with all it's New Age-style bunk that made sense one second but then completely contradicted itself the next. The first one worked because the action scenes were of a kind never before scene, the movie looked cool, and we could all be genuinely be suprised by the huge revelation that the "real" world wasn't real. But come on, who didn't feel ill by the time the whole, "I was told I would fall in love with the One" horse-hockey rolled around? You had Joey Pants providing some depth by being the one person who questioned which reality was better, and Agent Smith's classic "humanity is just a virus" speech, but the rest was just vague, non-important one liners spoken by half-characters in cool sunglasses and nice leather chaps.

Give me my bitchin' action money shots, and you can keep the rest. Because the rest is boring and poorly written.

Now that I'm rereading what I wrote, I realize I may have been too negative. I really enjoyed myself watching this film, and I still am very interested in what's going to happen in the next film even though I'm still not sure what happened at the end. I'm sure when I find out, I'll be even more excited. But I liked the French guy (GASP!) and his orgasm cake. That old guy in the room with Neo was quite creepy.

And I just read Fat Fuck Face's review at AICN. I thought I had already read the most thoroughly wet, stinky, shitty disgusting written diarrhea already, but that review is now the Wiener. He was disappointed because A. there were no werewolves or zombies in the film. B. He wishes it was more like Nightmare on Elm Street 3 C. He thinks the two Star Wars prequels were better. D. He thinks the film was too similar to Last Action hero. E. Apparently he thought some of tyhe best fight scene were unneccesary.

But, of course, he got key plot points WRONG for some odd reason. And then I thought, hmm, I haven't seen any Matrix Reloaded ads on this site and then I realized why this review was posted. He's retarded, and he didn't get any money.

TWO-FITTY!!! "Now how much fo' just ONE riiiiib?!?"

Alright, saw it, not bad. Face it, this series shot it's "suprise" wad in the first film, and they'll never go back to it. As an action film, it kicks serious ass and leaves the rest in the dust. The first part was a bit long, but it wasn't awkward and painful like anything "Star Wars" has done recently. I was actually impressed with the climax, though it really just made this series now, more than ever, just a blatant rip-off of "The Invisibles". Ah well, I'll see the next one, but I'm done with this one.

But someone please tell me what happened with Neo and the old guy in that room

He was explaining that neo, or "the one" is a mathematical anomaly. This means that Everything is in the matrix (yes, even Zion. This is why neo was able to stop the robots at the end).

It is necessary for the one to make it to the main frame, to assimilate back into the matrix and restart. When this is brought to light, the one has a choice to either restart the matrix or to have zion and the rest of the human race wiped out.

In this case Neo, the 6th "one", is the only one to have figured most of this out. He chooses to save trinity rather than save the human race.

In anticipation of the next question, Zion was set up to be a place for people who became aware of the matrix. This way they would still really be in the matrix, but they would think that they werent. Therefore, the machines could still use the humans as batteries, while not actually risking the matrix to destruction from rogue humans.

The matrix always goes through the same "story", so nothing new ever really happens. That is why everyone says they have a purpose.

I will see this in the theatres only because there are just some movies that I cannot wait to see on DVD.

I don't think that Zion is in the Matrix. The Architect gave Neo the choice to pick 23 humans with which to restart Zion and the rest would die. If not, all the humans would die, including the ones still serving as batteries. Neo's ability to stop the sentinels was unusual because he did so outside the Matrix.

I thought the same when i saw it last night. but then i though about it and it could have been a coincidence. maybe on of the Squiddies shorted out and emmitted a EMP blast because of its malfunction. it would explain why neo fell like that, because a) it was in really close range, and b) the battery human wre intergrated with mechanics and the close range blast could have shorted out one of his plugs.

On a side note: plugs don't look sexy at all

As an aside, when I saw the Matrix tonight the most evil thing happened before the film. You've all seen that Powerade ad with that Matrix Agent that has been running in front of films for the last month. FMJeff

that whole ending really fucked me up...i couldn't really wrap my head around the whole thing...a lot of weird logic that doesn't hold water when really analyzed. this movie was really discomforting because i usually have no problem understanding concepts as they are delinated to me.

1) How is it possible that all the Ones looked exactely the same? If the previous Neos chose to rebuild Zion and Zion is a real place, then the amount of time it takes to rebuild Zion after repopulating it would be thousands of years. How did Neo look the same in previous versions? Neo couldn't possibly look the same. There is no explanation in genetics that would explain how his progeny looked exactly like he did now.

If Zion wasn't real and if this was, indeed, all happening inside of the Matrix, then why can't Neo do his freaky shit in Zion? In this case, why did all the Neo's from previous versions look the same? If the Matrix time is real time, then in order for the Neos to look the same, the six times would have to take place within a 5-10 year period where age didnt affect Neo's appearance.

2) What the fuck happened to Neo's ability to tear someone's code apart by jumping through them? He could have easily killed the Architect. Why not? Here was the one program who controlled the Matrix. He could've ended the war right fucking there.

3) Explain to me why Neo still continues to fight with his hands and legs. He is the one. The fist punching him doesn't exist. Why does he even block. Why does he bleed when cut? Bullshit.

4) Why did I have to sit through a ten minute rave scene? Could they at least free the mind of a better fucking DJ? Paul Oakenfold maybe?

5) Did Niobe die at the end? I didn't catch that.

6) Does anybody have Flight of the Osiris on MPEG?

7) Explain to me how Agent Smith can reproduce 300 times and not alert other agents to his presence. He's now a rogue program, is he not?

I have more questions but my head hurts.

Ah, the perfect marketing ploy.... The movie you have to see 10 times to fucking understand what the hell is going on....

ok, as far as all the "Neos" looking the same, I thought that at first too, but the screens in the backround weren't Neo's previous choices, it was his <I>available</I> choices; or what the matrix predicted he would do....

I don't think Zion is still part of the matrix, but that Zion is still part of the "system reboot," if you will... The reason Neo could stop the machines, I think, was because his mind was <I>linked</I> to the mainframe, and he could do a little mental "ctrl-break" on the sentinals, but it put him in a coma, because he used some part of his mind he never did before and it overwhelmed him.

Now according to the Architect, all the rouge programs: Smith, Oracle, and the Keymaster were supposed to happen in order to tell Neo his destiny, which, as we found out in the first one, isn't nessecerily the truth, just what Neo needs to hear....

<I>Hopefully</I> all this speculation will be answered in the third movie...

But the hell with all that, there was an awesome car chase!!!

okay, my 'understanding' of this whole matrix phenomenon is quite limited but my question is that if other 'ones' in the past have chosen to rebuild Zion with 23 people don't you think that word of this would've leaked out at some point. Say he had chosen to go that route...Would they(the 23 people) be aware of what had happened to them and be able to pass that knowledge along to thier offspring?

Because this wasn't really all that "smart" outside of the so-called "big words" the architect used towards the end. It was just "fuzzy" and vague and hole-filled. And it's such a hard, swollen rip-off of "The Invisibles" it's not even cute anymore.

This simply is, a great action film that gets a little chatty at times. People expecting or wanting more are really, REALLY looking in the wrong place.

OK, Mojo. There's always one person who slips in the vauge refrence that only two people on the planet know. What is "The Invisibles?" and why would we know that The Matrix rips it off?

It was a finite comic books series that was around in the mid to late 90's, written by Grant Morrison and put out on DC Comics' "mature readers" Vertigo imprint. It's literally the most trippy, insane thing I've ever read, and its loosest possible description would be, "interdimensional monsters seek to re-control the Earth, and control us all by distorting, manipulating and changing our very sense of reality and what we think is 'real.', and have a force of willing and unwilling human 'agents' that enforce their will and prepare the planet for their return, whether by choice or being posessed by the monsters themselves. Only a small group of unspeakably cool people know this and have a loose-knit 'army' of fighters around the world trying to stop these beasties from re-taking the Earth as their feeding ground/slave source. This 'army' is called 'The Invisibles', and one of their numbers just might possibly be the new 'messiah/buddha' who can destroy the creatures."

It's one of the greatest things I've ever read, comic or otherwise, and anyone into "The Matrix" at all will probably enjoy the fuck out of it.

Given the Wachowkapowkablamkungfuwangchungowski Brothers admitted obsession with comics and their work with numerous comic book creators, including artists who worked on "The Invisibles", it's not too farfetched that more than a bit of "parallel writing" happened...

first of all im glad i didnt pay to see thsi movie. (thank god for bootlegs) but im not saying the movie was bad, but im not saying it was good. the fights scenes were pretty, thats is the only good thing i can say about that movie. but thats why i saw the movie. its similar to fridah the 13th series. its good for what it is.

if your looking for good acting, amazing dialogue, or plot development look elsewhere. x2 i recommend. the dialogue at certain points got stupid. the bad actors (except fishburne) cannot act smart, and accompanying the two just made me abandon the plot at certain points. also for the dudes who made this movie, look at X2 for a cliffhanger ending, where you feel like u saw the end of a movie, not just a guy yelling cut.

is this movie worth $10? it depends what your looking for. but i do recommend renting it....its not bad enough that it deserves none of your money.

Thanks for the link, badorties. That was an excellent read, and it's not farfetched that the Brothers W, as well as the writers of "The Invisibles" adopted those philosophies. I can also admire the ability to see the Bible as <I>literature</I> and philosophy, as opposed to some Instruction or code to life.

Makes me want to spend some time in the Libary this summer... eh, who has the time?

The fact that The One comes from the machine world is a brilliant way to write around the fact that Keanu Reeves can't act.

Are we 100% sure of the world existing before what we know it to be? I think the whole idea in that was suppose to be that, like Neo, Zion is an everlasting. It is somethign that will always be around. Kind of how, if you applied it mathematically, not religiosly, the architect described Neo as Pi, an infinite, an everlasting, he will go on forever, even if HE doesnt. Just as Zion will.

Hey, you stole my line, C.O.S!

The good FAAAAAAAARRRRRR outweighs the bad, and the bad is mostly the speeches littered by multisyllabic words.

Also, I didn't get why the Zion dancing scene wasn't more diverse. I mean, I have seen white people who can dance. It's not a myth- so why not put them in the crowd. Maybe I need to see it on DVD, but I thought that we'd have a good mix of all natonalities in the dance.

For the good, nothing can beat Neo vs. agent smith. Badass vs badass. The school playground fight was the best fight of the movie and everything else paled in comparison.

As for what Coonel Sanders spoted, I think that it's a lie created by the matrix by Persephone kissing Neo.

Programs do what they're programmed to do, isn't that right?

The keymaker was to open the door, the architect was to tell The One that zion is bullshit and Persephone has a programed task as well.

Ok, I could go on forever. Now what I'm really thinking about is who will die and what will happen when the matrix series comes to an end.

Is it the "it's all a dream" bullshit or is it "it's all a nightmare and you're still plugged in" bullshit?

Hey kids, leave your wife for a dominatrix and you can mesmerize millions of people with your movies, too! :)

The running theory is that more minorites would be open to accepting the idea of a "Matrix" than the white guy driving his big SUV home to his 4-car garage and "normal" family. Those that are more likely to be subjected to "shitty" lives are probably more apt to accept the idea that this wouldn't be the "real" world...

Who says that black people are the minorities in the future of the matrix or that they are living shitty lives before they are pulled out?

Well, I for one share Mojo's view on this. It was pretty clear to me as I was watching the movie.

It only makes sense that lower-class people who have nothing are willing to take up the cause of the revolution. Every revolution in history has been started by people with nothing to lose.

It only makes sense that someone who lives in the ghetto, who has absolutely nothing, will be willing to bring down the system that put and kept them there. In this case that system is the matrix.

If I'm making hundreds of thousands of dollars, I'm not going to want to destroy the matrix.

Therefore, Zion should be composed aminly of minorities and the like.

i loved the movie

all the philosophy is awsome and well put together. if you can check out a book called "Philosophy in The Matrix". it explains all the philosophical ideas in the movie. the Dead Sea Scroll tie in is the most obvious to me, very Neon Genesis Evangelion in idea.

ok, the CG... so beauiful at some points, but SO horrible at other points. the brothers made the same mistake that was made in Blade 2, which was less wire work and more CG. when the wire work is done right, like in the first movie, its amazing.

also for the dudes who made this movie, look at X2 for a cliffhanger ending, where you feel like u saw the end of a movie, not just a guy yelling cut.

you have to realize that reloaded and revolutions are not two different movies, but the SAME one. the reason there isnt one big cliffhanger is because thats was not the way it was written. it was written as one movie, and just cut in the middle, since a 5 hour movie was out of the question. if you didnt know this i could see how the ending could be a let down.

Well, look at EVERY revolution in history. It is ALWAYS the lower class revolting against those who live a life of privelage.

If you live a really fucked up life, you will not mind leaving that life behind in the hopes that you can make the world better.

If you make millions, you may not be "happy", but you will be less likely to give up everything you have. The matrix is great for everybody who is doing good in life (lots of $, big house POA wife). These people dont want to get rid of the matrix, because to tehm there is nothing wrong with the matrix.

I honestly thought the crowd at Zion was mixed, but everyone, including darker AND lighter skinned people, were just more tanned because they are workign class, and are working out in the sun more. This was to show that Neo and Trinity are so light because they do not work in the sun all day, theyre higher status than the regular citizens.

Im so glad they didnt release both movies at the same time too. Imagien what a rush it would have been. There are even rumors theyre going to wait longer than expected, and let reloaded run a lil longer in theaters.

i dont think you get what i mean, them doing good IS the problem. if both do well then both are losing seats to eachother. that is more money the studio can make if there is just one out at a time.

this is also the reason that studios and distributors hold movies that are already made when there is still a movie by the same company in theaters, so they dont lose seats to one another and that generates more money for the companies.

Yeah, supervixen. maybe you missed the part where the humans destroyed the sky, blocking off the sun AND the fact that Zion is deep underground.

I don't know about the whole Zion thing. Myabe I also have to take into account that the people who were listening to morpheus' speech are believers, so they might not represent all of zion. There are one million people in total, after all. they all couldn't have been there.

I mean, I can think of it one way or nother, but I didn't make the movie, so I can speculate to death

The Warchowskis should say a little more to the fans after these movies are done. I want to know what goes on their twisted minds!

I'm dying to see the final matrix movie. I hope they're not going to pull an "End of Evangelion" thing on us.

No, through all that mind spining dailouge, I do remember them saying 1 million.

Still, if it was 250,000, that still means that only a few of zion's citizens were present at Morpheus' speech.

Now, I have a question about the architect:

am I the only one that thought he was talking about persephone when he said "there's one woman sent out to find anomalies" and when Neo says "the oracle" the arcitect says "please!"

I think that the architect is a bullshit program mean to keep the one away and persephone's kiss had a darker purpose.

And I'm pretty sure about there only being aorund 250,000 people...I may not remember all the dialogue, but that "ever man, woman and child line" sticks clear as a bell...so somebody help us out!

After seeing this great movie several times in theatres as well as watching a very clear and good sounding bootleg, I locked myself away and thought about what I saw. This is what I came up with:

1- Neo is an anomoly of the matrix, ergo he was able to stop the squiddies b/c he is in another matrix. The "Real World" would be where the architect is from.

2- Since the architect said this was the 6th time he spoke to Neo, that concludes that there aren 6 alternate "realities" or matrices. This is where quantum physics & possibly the 6 degrees of separation theory comes into play. The reason the architect knew that this would be the last time he spoke to Neo was b/c he knew that he would save everybody.

3- Everytime the architect created a "new matrix" the anomoly was always present in the program but as he improved the matix, so was the anomoly was improved. That's why is responses were different from the "predacessors".

4- 23 people to repopulate zion = 23 chromasomes in 1 person.

My brain hurts, ill be back later with answers to questions you have.

It can't be 6 different chosen one's if it's suppose to be a program. You would be running the same type of program with some modifactions. Neo & the matrix is like Windows, Same program just modified at different times when the older program is deemed no good & the newer program is better.

Actually I meant the working in the sun thing as the directors showing us that more symbolicly with the skin tones rather than the actual people standing up, picking up their hoes, and going to harvest carrots.

Like when Neo and Trinity got off the elevator, and all the people came to him for help, everyone in that scene was dressed from a different time period, and different place, but they were all something that we could pick out and say 'That looks like they are from so-and-so time period.'

They weren't made to do nothing. It was a choice Neo made. Like the movie says, it's choice. Reguardless of what Neo chooses, he has to give up one for the other. I think they're making Neo too Christ-like in which probably, since he is "The One" he'll be able to have his cake and eat it too.

I zoned out during the dance/love scene, Neo/Oracle's conversation, and The archiect's speech. I wasn't as impressed with the movie as I had hoped to be. Most of the Animatrix stuff was much better. I think the brothers just got a little too impressed with themselves. I have this theory about Sequels that for them to be considered good they need to be able to stand on their own. This movie does not do that. For the story to make sense You had to have seen the first one and you'll need to see the third for the pay off from the second. The action was incredible, aside from some cg that was distracting in the middle of it,

The Matrix wasn't originaly made to have sequels, and now they need to back track to cover the points they made in the first.

And I get that Smith is now a virus, but what were the twins?

Outside of "Terminator 2", "The Godfather 2". the Indiana Jones sequels and "Empire Strikes Back", how many sequels DO truly stand on their own? "Back To The Future", LOTR, "The Matrix"...all films where unless you see the first films OR the follow-up films, you're completely lost.

But then again, those later three series all had sequels that were made right on top of each other and released a year or less apart, or were conciously made as "parts of a greater whole" right from the very start...

I'm very much in the, "a movie should be its own movie, even if it's a sequel" camp, but considering those latter three series, I think we are moving into a different kind of distinction when it comes to "planned" sequels...

Rogue programs. I think.

Back to the Future 2 is dependant on the first, but if you were to walk into the theater you could have seen it and still have enjoyed it. Some of the gags of them doubling up at the enchantment under the sea dance wouldn't have the same impact, but you wouldn't need 2 weeks of discussion after the fact to try to understand it.

And even though I haven't seen LOTR, that is based on a series of books and it was known going in that it would be a series. Same with Harry Potter.

And I have problems with the cold ending, mostly of which is that You need to see Revolution to get a pay off for anything in Reloaded. And to just assume that people will automaticly show up for part 3 is very vain of them. (Deja vu, must be a glitch in the system)

So far I'm feeling a little let down with this summer's movies.

But the discussion here isn't trying to somehow "explain" the first and second "Matrix" films so they fit together...the discussions are mostly focused on what was revealed in the second film itself and what those specific revelations mean in and of themselves. If I only saw "Reloaded" I would still have the same questions, and they ultimately have little to nothing to do with the first.

And like you said, LOTR was planned to be a trilogy from the start, but in the form of one giant film sliced into three parts where best convenient. These last two "Matrix" films are planned the same way, except it's two films instead of three, and apparently the filmmakers had a tad more difficulty in breaking up their five hour-long film.

Fuck, why am I defending this thing so much? I thought it was alright. Goddamn "Matrix".

I zoned out during...Neo/Oracle's conversation, and The archiect's speech. I wasn't as impressed with the movie as I had hoped to be

That is why. Those two scenes are pivotal, most of the plot in the movie is in those two scenes.

This is why the movie has gotten such mediocre reviews. I zoned out a little, but i was able to follow it and i think that the movie was great.

Once you understand what happened, the movie will seem a lot better.

It's Just <I>so</I> different, you can easily tell who thought more about transition, here...

LOTR, you have most of the action from the body of the movie wrapped up at the end, with a few allusions about what is to come, and at the end the characters look to what is ahead of them, we get a fade out, thanks for watching our movie...

Matrix, you have a whole slew of stuff introduced at a lightning pace, the surface is resolved, but a slew of other stuff now unresolved, we have a big clffhanger ending; jumpcut to "to be continued" It's too "Buffy-esqe": The characters fight the villian, they start to go home, then some long dead character suddenly appears, says something ominous.. "to be continued...." I dunno, I just don't think it's how a movie should end...

The Two Towers, by the way, if you haven't read the book, goes for the big cliffhanger at the end of the book, but PJ thought it would be too... "TV serial" to use that ending in the movie... I think the Warchawskis should have used the same discretion...

Again though, that's my only real complaint about the movie...

saw it yesterday and i liked it.
You are all reading too much into your guesswork: the idea is we are NOT supposed to "get it" until the 3rd movie.

1) we dont know who the architect really is
2) we dont know how the oracles role fits in entirely
3) we know there is a "mother" program equally as important as the "father" ( architects) program yet to be revealed.
4) there are many mysteries surrounding zion and the matrix -

the 3rd one better answer them all..and WELL!

but that Pipe fight scene was the best freakin fight scene ive ever seen in my life.

i wonder which martial artists collaborated on the film to write such elaborate fights scenes.

People, it's not a crime to rent things on DVD. Trailers nowadays are about 4 minutes long and they basically give oyu the whole plot. So if you're halfway into a movie and you're checking your watch, there is no problem in walking out and asking for a refund.

Now as for the "what are the twins" question, they are rouge programs who work for the french guy (I forget his name) All the french guy's lackeys are rouge programs as well, as is Agent Smith.

FINALLY saw it today. Thanks muchly to badorties and
Tall_James for providing links to things that helped me
digest some of what I saw.

I loved it, tho not quite as much as the first, because
the story was what pulled me into the first one.
And while the fight and chase scenes are indeed
impressive, I wasnt more story, more character
development, etc.

I have many questions still that I hope will be
answered by the rest of the Animatrix stuff when it
comes out in June, and by Revolutions in November.
And I guess I am going to have to go out and get the
game for still more answers (thank ghu I got my son a
GameCube for his birthday).

One thing that I have not seen brought up anywhere
and a question that has been nagging at me. The
scene where the somewhat malevolent looking guy
cuts the palm of his hand twice, and then shakes Neo's
hand before he goes out to find the Keymaker. Who
was that guy? Why didn't Neo notice the blood? And
mostly why did the guy DO that?

Anyone have any ideas on this part?

I definately think there was development with Neo's character. Basically at the end, all his virtual superman bullshit means nothing because the matrix is (supposedly) fooling somebody.

That guy was a Smith clone who got pulled out into the real world through that guy's body. He cut his hand because he was finally experiencing something real - PAIN! I am sure it is a fascinating experience for a computer program. He also cut his left hand and shook Neo's with his right hand - no blood there.

I understood this movie and thoroughly enjoyed it, and all because I did not question what they presented to me, but just let their imaginations take me out of the theatre and into another world - away from all of life's little problems. That's what entertainment is for. Don't look for movies to answer all of life's questions for you - you will be sadly disappointed, just enjoy and escape for a while.

I'm honestly suprised by how many people have no clue who this guy is.

Remember early in the film when Agent Smith attacks and kills one of the Zion agents about to pick up the phone and go "home"? Smith absorbs the guy, and then HE picks up the phone, so thusly Smith's "mind" is transferred back into the body of the Zion citizen. That guy was the one who almost knifed Neo, and he was the "lone survivor" of the robot attack at the end and is that other guy on the medical table with Neo at the end of the film.

I really think that people will enjoy this movie on dvd even more, in a theatre you want to be instantly entertained and instantly "get it"

I enjoyed the matrix reloaded a whole lot, but some of what was being said didn't click until long after I saw the movie.

I also like movies that challenge me intellectually, but I heard so many negative comments about the Matrix before I saw it that I was not expecting to be entertained at all. I think going into a movie with little to no expectations also help deliver a better experience. And some of the conversations didn't fall into place with me until after I got home, too. That just helped me enjoy the movie even more. I look forward to seeing if they wrap everything up in the third. Hopefully all unanswered questions will be resolved.

Okay, I got the Animatrix and was impressed with it.

Seeing Last flight of the Osiris was almost a prequel that I found pretty cool.

Second Rennaisance was great and the fact that the A.I. Homeland was Zero One gives me the impression that that will have something to do with Z1on.

Kid's Story may get them a lot of heat but was also a cool add on to that kid's story from the movie.

I might go see revolution again.

Hey, that's an okay observation! What if the whole angle to the matrix is that some machines are benevolent towards humans and they are protecting people and even freeing them?

I have to see the rest of the animatrix. If you haven't seen them yey, most of them are up on theanimatrix.com

Second rennisance 1 and 2 are the best because they explain what morpheus was talking about in part 1. Really graphic and fucked up. Anime at it's best.
