What do guys consider fat?

I've noticed not only on the board, but guys I know in general calling women 'fat' that are far from it in my eyes. Granted, most of the women they are critiquing are famous, but that shouldn't change anything.

So what is fat? Give some examples, because if Christina Aguilera is now 'fat' then I'm a lard ass. I personally don't find too skinny attractive (like Lara Flynn Boyle and Angelina Jolie) so maybe I just think a little more meat looks better.

the thing is, what i consider fat for one person isn't necessarily fat for another.

i think christina aguilera is a huge fat heffer now, but i also used to think stephanie mcmahon was really hot and that she wasnt' fat at all. (she's a big fat pig now too though)

some girls carry weight differently than others. i thought terri hatcher used to be really hot, now she's rail thin and i think she looks awful. christina on the other hand is much better rail thin, now she eats burger king from a trough.

i love girls of all sizes, and fat doesn't work the same way for each girl. there are some girls who are bigger than others and are so unbelievably hot and would look worse skinny, other girls only look good incredibly skinny and a gain of 5 pounds makes them look awful.

so i can't say what i consider fat for all girls, it pretty much goes on a case to case basis.

It's all in the clothing and making it look appropriate. Usually, less is NOT more, especially going out. Ok, if you have a midriff like Kaley Cucco, Amanda Bynes, the Hilton Sisters or Britney Spears on a good day, you can wear jeans that begin mere millimeters above your clit, and well south of the public line(were there hair there). These girls wear, and pull out 6 or more inches of space between their navel and their vage. And they look great doing it. Most people wouldn't and that's ok. Your everyday girl isn't making her living with her body and appearnance and cannot afford private chefs and personal trainers, so it's a different expectation level for me. But girls who can't pull that look off, should not attempt to.

It's the principle to me that a Size 12 in a size 12 looks better than a size 8 in a size 4, all things being equal. Someone like Kelly Osbourne isn't THAT fat, but she wears clothes entirely too small for her, presumbably so she can say she's a size 2 or 3 when she's really a size 6 or 7.

I mean, over 200 lbs is probably too fat, and I'd say the cutoff line for men is 300(and I"m well north of that, so I'm being objective, but I was still looking good at 285, and I'd imagine some women look good if they are stylish and a little plump).

i think it really depends on the guy. people just have different tastes. i'm certainly not thin. i'm sure some guys find me entirely too fat. there are also lots of guys who find me attractive and think that i look good. if you're happy with yourself (not that i'm saying i am, but that's for another thread), that's really all that matters.

I look at it like this, everybody carries there weight differently so some woman look better than others even if they are the same weight.
Here is an example of what I look for, if you are 5 foot 5 or shorter and over 135 pounds you should have at least a C cup probably a D. If you are over 5"5' you might be able to get away with a B cup but you better have an ass. As a matter of fact it is a shame that more women don't take care of there ass because i find the ass to be the sexiest part of a woman.

I agree. Weight/heaviness is all about how you carry yourself. There are a lot of overweight women who I've found attractive not just because they had a pretty face, but they carried themselves really well - and - this is key - <b>they took care of themselves.</b>

There are some fat girls who do not take care of themselves and look like fat slobs. That is not attractive.

Real Answer, 99% of the time it doesn't matter. MartiniJay's theory intrigues me. . . and is probably more accurate than anything I've heard so far. . . I used to date a guy in college who kept calling me "fat kid", among other things, and it made me miserable. Another guy I dated used to make my thighs and breasts jiggle because it amused him while high (it HURT like all HELL), and prompted me to try and start a fitness program on my own. Yet another guy I dated (again, in college) insisted he was perfectly content with my physical appearance yet would make little remarks about my legs, or feed me stories from his gossipy friends about my ass, tits, legs, arms, etc. Worst of all, once I lost the weight, he made comments to the effect that my breasts weren't big enough anymore.

I have tried really hard to feel confident about my body (I'm Slovak, German & Irish) and am only recently coming to the realization that the 'standard' of beauty presented to us on TV or in the movies (Camryn Manheim excepted - I think she is beautiful because she is so confident) is not 'standard'. It's relative.

Its all relative. Every guy has his own opinion on it, despite the media's attempts to define and exploit it. They can tell me a thousand times that Kate Moss is hot, and I'll still feel sorry for her, despite her success and my own problems. Seriously.. it must really suck to not be able to enjoy a nice fried pork chops without puking it out 10 minutes later.

I would agree with Fatty that the definition of overweight is relative to the individual, although there is a general consensus of what is considered obsese (in this country). The criteria for that judgement are actually more subtle than you might initially think. For me personally, the criterion for obesity are dispersed throughout the body....the lower neck, the cheeks, under the jaw, thighs, hips, waistline, breast size (yes, too big & too much hang contribute as well as separation), lower back, arms, fingers etc. All of these are assessed immediately and a value judgement is made. This being said, you can have a big ass or thick arms or thick legs or a little double chin and still not be considered overweight by some. It is, however, generally agreed upon that the combination of two or more would make a person overweight.

It's more a subtle assessment of physical features than actual poundage over the recommended weight for your age and height. Clothing and makeup can also help reduce the signs of obesity.

So can exercise and dieting. ;)
