View Full Version : Protest After a Bar 9 Night? Why not?

I just posted in Heckler's thread but it got me thinking why we never take advantage of the fact that every other Tuesday at Bar 9 we have at least thirty-fifty solid Ron & Fez fans. In fact, one of the really great things is that Bar 9's seem like they've even grown since the Buddies were taken off the air. Claire and I have been going since July or August and it feels like there are more Ron & Fez fans attending than any other time. I think this shows how genuinely loyal and great R & F fans are and, to me, we have a golden opportunity to do at least one silly protest. Both WNEW and CBS are just blocks away from the bar and I don't see why we just don't go outside the buildings when we've had all our fun at Bar 9 and do some aggitating. I'm not saying it's gotta be super-long or anything; maybe only an hour; but why not try? Come on, folks, getting home an hour or two later isn't gonna kill you! And if not this Tuesday, then perhaps a Bar 9 Tuesday in the near future with good organization? I don't know...

It's a good idea, except either we'd have to do it sober (booooo!) or do it before bar 9 (yayyyyyy!)

Dave, maybe we can start thinking about a daytime protest. Any type of protest involving alcohol, especially at night, could lead to a night in lockup.
Let's do something.

I see all of your points. But I still think the time for radical plans is now. Most people can't get into the city before 5, so we can't protest during work hours. Also, many people don't get to Bar 9 until 8 or 9 or 10 o'clock, so it would be too much time coordinating a time. I says so what if we have a few cocktails in us, after Bar 9 while we have a concentration of fans is the best time. Instead of going home we just walk over. After the last Hard Rock party, I walked over to WNEW at about 2, 2:30 in the morning and did a solo protest with my Ron and Fez shirts. Yes I looked crazy and people were wondering who this person was with a bunny puppet on his hand but, blasted, it felt good to make known Ronny & Fezzy are still alive! What do you think, Peekums?
