CC Gets Only WIHT In Top 10, HFS Hits Iceberg - 5/22 - According to latest round of those Arbitrend radio ratings, the best Clear Channel could do, in the overall age 12+ numbers, was 10th place with its rhythmic contemporary "Hot 99.5" WIHT. That's even though CC owns eight stations in the DC market. CC's country WMZQ and oldies WBIG tied for 11th, with its adult contemporary WASH falling five notches to 14th. CC's rocker DC101 placed 15th, and its sport talker WTEM took 18th. Infinity's urban WPGC-FM jumped back into 1st place, flipping with former top of the heap, Radio One's adult urban WMMJ, which landed in 2nd. Bonneville's all-news WTOP again took 3rd, with sister classical outlet WGMS doing a repeat performance in 4th, tied with Howard U's adult urban WHUR, which was up two slots. Radio One's urban WKYS dropped two places to 6th, with ABC talker WMAL staying at 7th, tied with sister hot adult contemporary WRQX, which slipped one spot. ABC's smooth jazz WJZW remained in 9th. Infinity's hot talk WJFK-FM ranked 11th, up three notches, with sister classic rocker WARW at 16th. Bonneville's hot adult contemporary WWZZ/WWVZ remained at 17th, with Mega's Spanish contemporary WBZS/WBPS at 18th. Infinity's gospel WPGC-AM ranked 20th. Infinity's pathetic alt rocker WHFS dropped out of the top 20 (with its morning "Junks" show slumping to 20th place). In morning drive, also the 12+ demo, WTOP placed 1st, WMMJ 2nd, WPGC-FM 3rd, WRQX 4th, WKYS 5th, WJFK-FM 6th, WMAL 7th, WGMS 8th, with WHUR and DC101 tied for 9th. In PM drive, same demo, WTOP again took 1st, WPGC-FM 2nd, WJFK-FM and WMMJ tied for 3rd, WMAL 5th, WKYS 6th, WGMS 7th, WIHT 8th, WJZW 9th, and WHUR 10th. More later.....

So far so good, i would guess.

Good job DC Reed, I sent Dave an email to let us know how our boys did this ratings book. Hopefully he will get back to me today.

We need everyone to keep spreading the word about Ron and Fez. Get you friends, coworkers, hell anyone you talk to get them to listen.

Dave always responds the day you ask him, hes a pretty decent guy.

Hopefully the guys did better in the trends, and hopefully D+M will make mention of the show and the ratings. RnF's best chance to draw a major audience in DC is to get a great leadin from Don and Mike.

And Jafts, jes call me Reed =)

DC Reed - You beat me to the punch...other stuff it says is that Howard Stern is 6th place (behind news, urban, top 40 and Jack Diamond stations! Eeeek!); Elliot is 9th place; and the Junkies are not so money - fell to 20th place! Yeeouch!

How much longer until they return to WJFK and are put in the mid-day spot between Stern and D&M?

It's a really good sign that the whole station made such a jump, though. Don't forget these are just the trends, and aren't taken that seriously.
