i wanted badly to call in tonight for the "what did you set fire to?" segment, but had forgotten my phone at home and couldnt. remember years ago at the end of GI joe they would have the segment where they taught you a nifty little safety rule? i saw one once that was about how you can smother a fire with a blanket. sounds reasonable right? if a cartoon can do that i can too (at 7 years old). so i found a lighter in the woods where the "older kids" would hide to smoke. i went immediatly back to where one goes to play with lighters when they're 7....the garage of my grandma's quadreplex..i find a "blanket" to smother any fire i made. so i decided that the good idea would be to light the corner of the blanket, and then use the rest of it to smother out the flame. the blanket in question wasnt a blanket at all. it was an old oily canvas tarp, which immediatly burst into flames, igniting both a plastic silver shiny christmas tree, and the cieling of the garage. i freaked the fuck out and ran around to the front of the house to get my grandmother, who just about shit herself when she saw the entire garage and back poirtion of the building engulfed with flames. she hit the alarm and everyone got out ok, but the building burnt to the ground. i didnt even get yelled at.... not even really questioned about it. hmm. ahwell.... thats my story.
