What's the better soundtrack?

I love both movies and think Wes picks just the most amazing music.

Now for my choice....

Rushmore...

why?

Well, I own more songs/albums on the Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack. Therefore, a case can be made I like the music better so it's the better sountrack.

Yet...I find the Rushmore soundtrack more seamless...if not ecclectic.

OK - so, I'd rather listen to the Rushmore soundtrack, but I'd rather listen to the individual GROUPS on the Royals soundtrack.

Am I making sense?

Anyway they both are awesome and I'm really pissed there is no Bottle Rocket soundtrack (yet?).....

There's a "Bottle Rocket" SCORE, but it's not quite the same, though pretty essential...

I go with "Rushmore". More of a balance...the songs just "fit" together more smoothly. Brilliant songs on "Royal", but they're all over the place...

I have never seen either but heard they are both excellent films. I usualy need to get a kick in the ass before I see a proclaimed GREAT film. I always jump on these things WAY too late.
