I really enjoy the Staples show. I have known people who struggle with depression and alcoholism. It is a damn hard life. More difficult than many of you realize. Especially all of you freaks that call him a loser and a worthless fool. You guys should feel good that you have never been though any kind of hardship. Maybe if you had, then you would be a little more compassionate toward his situation.

I suspect that many of you negative Billy posters are either Immature, never been through a tramatic experience, or just too young to know any better.

He does not bring the show down, he is a good character. If you dont like the show then put on DC 101 and listen to "been caught stealing"

Since you feel free to throw insults around. permit me to follow suit:

Listen, Asshole, don't assume that people here on this board live Polly-Anna lives. There are many, many people here who have gone through many things that were not of their own doing-Not like Billy. Billy has caused almost everything bad that has happened to him. To wit: His alcoholism and his inability or lack of will to do anything about it. All he keeps harping on is that no one can help him-that he is helpless and hopeless. Well, Bucko, with an attitude like that, You are doomed- no way out-finished. He blames everyone else for his problems and can't see that he is the root cause of all of his problems (as most of us are!)
Until Billy wakes up and realizes only he can help himself (not a rehab, not a therapist, not a 12 step group) he will continually go down his self-created path of destruction!

Have a lovely day!!

From my personal experience only, I can say that this was the Only way for me.
AA and 12 steps help some, me? nope.
I had to one day; change my life.
I went from binge drinking many times a week to stone sober. 15 months 9 days; and fuck yes I count.
AA is wrong about one thing;
It aint One Day at a time;
It's One Second at a time.

And billy rocks; say what you will about him on the show; he often infuriates me, and ive called him and we've disagreed on-air [not about the booze, about jonathon edward]; but in person he, for me, has always been there to say hi and engage you in a real conversation.

The only thing Billy, or any of us, are ultimately guilty of is Wasted Time. We have our time here, and you have to one day ask yourself:
What is this life?
How can I best serve this awesome life that I have been given?

That isnt religion I'm talking about either, folks. I'm talking stepping away from yourself and really looking at what you see.
This is extremely difficult in actual practice.

I keep bragging about it all over the board but fuck it; in 15 months with no booze I've lost 70 pounds, got off alnost all the meds MDs had me on, and I feel like im 10 years younger.

And the only thing I regret is the wasted time. I regret Nothing Else. Not a thing I did.

And Booze is fine, for some! No problem, no worries, and cheers to them and have one on me, my friend.

It's just for me, for this life, not for me.

Mike,
Don't think of it as wasted time- it was what you needed to wake up to life. I KNOW!! Can't regret the past-just learn from it!! Congrats, Pal!!!!

REESHY RULES!!

Anyway, listen ninepixel.

If you've been listening for awhile, you would know that Billy is VERY well liked by just about everyone who listens and who works with him. They always are there to help him.

You should also know that Billy offers himself up to ridicule for the sake of Comedy. He KNOWS what will happen when he says these things, and I would guess that over 90% of the people insulting him are NOT doing it to personally tear him down. They are just participating in the "bit" he knew his on air admission would start.

That is all.
