Hi guys..

i dunno what it is about heckler but lately i really think he makes the show incredibly boring!

i understand that not every listener is gonna enjoy every guest/regular that the guys have on the show.. but i dont' see why the guys feel he adds to the show.. pointless rants, interrupting R&F, etc.. he takes all the momentum out of the show or something.

this isnt' meant to start a flaming thread and i'm not critizing the show (who am i to do that? :) and i'm sure hekler's a cool guy for campaining for R&F in NY, etc..) but i was just wondering if anybody else feels the same way...

Ya...I agree with you. Sometimes it seems he forces things too much. I have one of the shows recorded from early in the month where he visited and it was one of the most boring bits I heard (fans were trying to stump the hecler re: t.v shows and what channel they came out on). Since I can't hear the show now, is he taking over Billy's spot? Please I hope not cuz Billy is way funnier that this guy and Billy seems to blend in more with the show without slowing it down. But I give props to Heck for bring a big R&F supporter.

Hecklers great, great knowledge, fun to listen too, always has some interesting opinion to add as well. The king of old-school and every thing that means party trivia.

Heres the thing, its hard to take a character from the NY show, and place him in the show now, being the show was tape delayed, and many of the DC people may not know how he came about.

Thats all thats wrong, heck doesnt have the character development he did in NY, than here. But trust me youll catch on, and youll love him just as much as everyone else here.

i'm not a new listener by no means.. been listening to the show for almost 2.5 -3 years now. (that doesnt' make me a veteran listener, either) but the only time i miss it is when i'm out of the country..but that's what Big Sexy's for (or any incarnation of it) :P

He does slow the show down and makes Ron and Fez look bad in the process.

Ron and Fez being behind him so much has forced me to cut him extra slack too, but I just can't find a damn thing interesting about him on the radio. I"m sure those of you who happen to know the Heck are the ones defending him, and I, in no way, mean to personally disparage him. He tries, and he is prepared, and has been a great spirit behind trying to bring back Ron and Fez. But I think if the Heck is truly serious about crossing over from caller to talent, which he seems to have a great interest in doing, he needs to really get motivated. He's monotone even when screaming, has bad timing, and seems nervous as a 14 year old with a whore on air. I was one of the few who hated superstar, but I'd almost rather him instead of the Heck. Having the wealth of knowledge is only half the battle, it's also essential to know when and where to deploy the info. Right now he sounds like Cliff Clavin.

And those who support the Heckler, what exactly are you getting behind? Is it just your personal relationship, or do you have more to offer than just "Heckler rules", "Heckler is awesome, etc"

The Nature Boy hit it right on the head. Heckler does remind me of Cliff from cheers. He has all this knowledge but I think he needs to work on his delivery more. I'm not knocking the guy, I'm sure he's a great guy and all, but how he comes across the radio doesn't translate well. I'd rather listen to Billy on a bad day and even Al Dukes before I listen to the Heckler.

Heckler has some great interesting information and I used to like it when he would talk about stuff with Ron & Fez but he is not funny at all. When he makes a joke I cringe. He dosen't know when to shut up and let Ron & Fez be funny.

I love the Heck, he has an oppinion on everything, no matter how obscure. I find him facinating, and when the boys walked out of the studio and left him alone for 20 minutes he held his own quite well. He was great.

I personlly love his local references to my beloved NYC, (sorry DC this is my opinion) and enjoy the discussion of obscure topics.

Of all the adjectives in the world I'd use to describe Heckler, "boring" or "unfunny" would never enter my mind. The man is a walking World Almanac, and can converse expertly on topics as far ranging as music, sports, politics, geography, cinema, pop culture, and opera, just to name a few.

He's also the Old School king, and perhaps many of his references go over the heads of a lot of the younger listeners, but I for one get the hugest kick out Heckler's appearances and all the goofy tidbits he remembers from days gone by. Don't forget the man is just a listener, too. He's not a trained broadcast professional and never claimed to be, just a die hard fan with a lot to offer the show.

I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I honestly don't think there's a single member of this board who could go on the air with Ron and Fez and hold their own the way Heckler has time and time again.

So if you were at a party and ran into a person you didn't know who was a KNOW-IT-ALL, you would put up with them? PLEZZ... Like some people said earlier in the post before, HECKLER is a great guy, no denying the fact, but great radio? I don't think so (not yet at least, still needs to work on a few things).
