I went to my court date yesterday expecting a fine.

I got there at 9 am. I had no lawyer. I waited til 2:30 pm. They wanted me to plead to a misdeamenor and pay a $250 fine. Meanwhile drug users and shoplifters and others all day that came up for suspended licenses were being fined $50 and no criminal record.

Apparently earning over 45K means that I should get fucked over.

Ok, so what that means is, your SIDA access will be revoked by the port authority if the crime is a felony. Now it doesn't matter what the judge gives you. even if it's probation with no time.

what matters is, could this crime carry a penalty of 1 year or more? if no, then you have nothing to worry about from the PANYNJ/FAA/ or TSA. if yes, then cover it up.

hey fig, if you have to go to court and you are going to use a lawyer ask about a condistional(sp) discharge. this have to be a first offense, you will have to take about 4 drug tests and be on probation for about 6 months and then 6 months after the probation is over you can get the whole thing expunged from your record. hope this helps a little and sorry to hear that you got "popped" by the cops...

back when i smoked weed i found the only safe place to smoke other than home is through the car wash plus after you can spray cleaner inside to get the weed smell out. and only carry a rolled a joint or two NEVER bring the whole bag with you! eating joints got me out of an arrest before. here is how it works in jersey

for a first offence you will be offered something called P.T.I. (Pre-trial intervention) and what happenes is you get some court fines and probation fines.. usually around a hundred dollars... you have to go for a drug evaluation, which you have to pay for (about 40 bucks a session if they decide you have a problem) and at least 6 month probation.. which usually includes about 70 hours community service..
i know it sounds like alot but it totally beats jail time..
ive been on pti for almost 2 years they let me move and shit and have been totally cool with me.
