TV Stupidity that always bugged me

1) Why did Spacely Sprocket always fire Jetson just to re-hire him again?

2) Why did Mr. Winslow continue to allow Urkel to trash his house?

3) Why did popeye wait so long to eat his sprinach? Just eat it now and don't waste time with the buildup.

4) What the hell actually made KITT faster when he switched into super pursuit mode? I saw no evidence of jet exhaust or jet engines at all. All I saw were those little vents that popped out the side, and even if they were jets, wouldn't they bake the paint on the car?

5) Why did the villain always sit there and wait as Columbo explained how he did it? If I was caught for a capital offense, I wouldn't sit there while Peter Falk rattled off on how he figured it out. I'd kill him and leave.

6) Why in every tv show involving a computer do they show programs that do not exist utilizing graphical interfaces that take months to render on a normal high-end system and serve no logical purpose other than finding the exact answer to the plot's question?
