i'm still not entirely clear on what happened with this whole field day thing, but the upshot is that it's no longer being held out on the island for the two days it was originally planned. i dont understand this - you'd think they would have taken care of these things and ensured that everything was in order before getting all the bands and selling tickets and whatnot.

however, their idiocy is my gain.

now they are holding the concert at giant's stadium on saturday only. and i'm going. i assume not all the bands are playing. i can't imagine that they can fit two days' worth of bands into one day. but, according to the web site, the following bands have confirmed:

radiohead
beastie boys
beck
blur
underworld
spiritualized
elliott smith
beth orton
liz phair
bright eyes
thursday
my morning jacket
gemma hayes
22-20s
ours

i know there was a thread on the "orginal" field day, but i guess things have changed quite a bit since then... anyone going?

Well atleast theres one good act to see. This lineup reminds me of the Warped tour i saw in 2000 or somethin.

Mad props to Fluff for the sig and C.O.soup for hosting!

Still not going. Still not paying $85. Not into the headliners, like quite a few of the other artists, tho'.

this trend of summer blockbuster festivals is getting tired. the better majority of bands i couldn't be bothered with.

Man, we're finally starting to have some good, Brit-styled festivals (Coachella, Field Day), and they have to jump through hoops to actually go on...FEH.

This lineup reminds me of the Warped tour i saw in 2000 or somethin.

You're so lame.

I do like the three bands listed above, and I'd hardly call the majority of these bands headliners. Ours and Liz Phair are small time.

It's really not tough to call you "lame" at all. In fact, it's shockingly easy...

Not just shockingly easy, but there are whole threads dedicated to it.

Radiohead, Beck, Beasties

these guys could do a tour by themselves and only charge abour 30-40 bucks. Theyd sell out every show.

Coachella and Field Day, COOL! Prices! Gay!

Im pissed im gonna pay 50 bucks to see Audioslave, at lollapalooza. And thats the only band i really wanna see at the tour.

it is a bit pricey, but i think it's more than worth it. my two favorite bands - bright eyes and radiohead - are both playing... i would pay $85 to see one of them alone. add in elliott smith, who i'd probably pay close to that to see, as well, and i'd say i'm getting one hell of a deal.

bring a raincoat,
it is suppossed to pour all day saturdayi've got my emergency poncho and rain bonnet all ready. the rain's gonna suck.
