A new show on at 11pm? And more at 11am! And Weekend shows! NASCAR =( Redskins (dammit)
All I know if Camdaddy is doing some serious work on that station, and it will be credible again in the near future. WJFK's best move, promoting that guy, in about 3 weeks as (whatever he is) he's bringing the station back to life, and I couldnt be happier.
So you liking these new changes, or you gonna shuv a fork in your ass before you ever listen to El Jeffe again? Heres a place where we can all Rant, Rave and just plain bitch about our favorite station,
The Mighty WJFK.

I started listening to WJFK back in 1990, when I lived in the DC area, and I couldn't be happier with the direction they're taking. I think the success of the sports junkies showed them that original, unproven programmining could work. Cameron is progressive thinking and seems willing to take chances. Not all of the new programming will work, but there's very little downside if it doesn't. I'd like to see more original programming on the weekend -- sort of like the WJFK minor leagues. If slots open up and a weekend show has proven itself, then they should be able to move into that slot.

It wont...for a long time, or at least untill they use thier real names and stop hiding behind useless aliases that make no sense and are not witty at all.

El Jefe is definitely not ready for the bigs. How long were the junkies doing weekends before they got moved to nights.
The music show on Sundays are not bad I have only listened to 1 or 2 shows.
I would love to see more local home grown shows. Even the Tech guys were ok. They were a bunch of nerds but they were fun to listen to every now and then on a Saturday afternoon.
We need everyone to keep spreading the word about Ron and Fez. Get you friends, coworkers, hell anyone you talk to get them to listen.

I heard that too. Ron and Perry were talking about Perry meeting with Cameron this week. I'm guessing that he's not getting the 11:00 am show, but that he is being considered for a staff position on R&F now that Rory is gone.

From DCRTV:
106.7 Goes Live At 11 AM - 6/9 - Looks like today (Monday) is the day hot talker WJFK-FM will unveil its new "live" programming for the 11 AM hour, sandwiched in between Howard Stern and Bill O'Reilly. Most likely 60 minutes (minus ads) of Ron and Fez, who'll still be doing their evening shift on 106.7.....

You mean it isn't going to be El Jefe?
I'd like for him to get the 11 p.m. slot. These Don & Mike replays are killing me. I can't take an additional 4 hours a day of Don talking to his wife on the phone.

1 - burn out city or
2- prep for move to mid days, freeing up late night for something with a lower audience count

Don't be so negative, give the boys a chance to get back on their feet. Have faith the boys will be back in NYC.
As for todays show it was great, they talked about all of the hot topics of the weekend. They boys were tight, and the hour flew bye. Another good thing were the 3 minute commercial breaks, not the usual 8-10 minute breaks we are used to from WJFK.
Well they boys will be doing this all week, hopefully they will pick up some more people who listen during the day.
I say once O'Reilly's contract is up the boys will move to midday. O'Rielly is the dead weight on the station.
We need everyone to keep spreading the word about Ron and Fez. Get you friends, coworkers, hell anyone you talk to get them to listen.

I made it a point to schedule a meeting across town so I could be in my car from 11-12 to hear the show. The boys were funny as hell, as usual, and made it a point to promote the other shows on the station. I hope that the other people on the station return the favor.

This is fantastic. It would be even more fantastic if the promos leading up to the 11 a.m. live hour (the ones that have played for the past few weeks, without mention of Ron & Fez getting the slot) did not absolutely run down the hour with great spots such as "From the same people who thought it was a good idea to move Don and Mike from afternoons!"
Oh well.
This is sweet - they are killing right now!!
Anybody who listened to this want to give a feedback to those of us who were at work?
BTW, I haven't heard this morning's show, but even money says Ron made some sort of joke about O'Reilly.

It was a rapid fire hour of topic to topic to topic with two small commercial breaks. They were hysterical. Some great shit.
(Am I allowed to mention that Don and Mike said that WJFK should just give Ron and Fez the mid-day spot, take O'Reilly off the air, instead of the station jerking them around?)
Some of the funniest shit R&F talked about was when they said that "And those of you who listen to the radio 12 hours a day, we'll be back tonight live at 8pm!"
Actually, at first they said that they would be on at 7pm, and had to be reminded that on Mondays they come on at 8pm after the horrible Redskins show, and that lead to them FINALLY cracking on Larry Michaels!!
Finally!
They really are home! Don and Mike, the Junkies (when they were here) and even Howard Stern have had fun at Larry's expense over the years! As a Larry-Hater-Lover, I loved it!!
Anyway, in a perfect world - Ron and Fez would be on from 11am - 3pm / the Junks at night from 7-11 and even bring Love Line on from 11-1am. The other alternative would be, R&F stay on at night, followed by El Jefe from 11pm - 3am, with the Baltimore show on at 11am - 3pm.
Whew!
Ron kept promoting O'Reilly's show by saying "Stay tuned...he's going to have Lesbians on for two hours," and "Later on O'Reilly he reveals he's a Democrat!"
That one hour was better than 4 hours of other shows!

You know, not counting any overnight replays, Ron and Fez are now on par with Don and Mike and Howard Stern with the number of hours a day they do. Each show is now on (officially) 5 hours a day.
Stern's time is 6-11am, even though much of that last hour is a replay / D&M are on from 2-7pm, even though that first hour is a replay.
And now R&F get their WJFK five hours! Just a little broken up, but it is 5 hours!
Now all they need is 10 weeks of vacation, and they will really have made it!
Seriously, while it is a suck-schedule, anything to get people to notice them; to dust things up a bit; and to hopefully get rid of O'Reilly is a very, very good thing.
