The World Series home field thing is plain stupid.

What they need to do is have the winning team get all the inter-league games at home the follwing year. That way ALL the players care. And the owners will shit a brick if thier League losses the game. Thats alot of money lost.

Honestly, there's too much at stake for this solution.
As an example, I'd have to imagine that the Mets
Yankees series is incredible lucrative for the home
team. Another example -- Cubs vs. White Sox - I'd
guess that this series is fat cash to the White Sox, who
otherwise don't draw as well. Add to that the fact that
All-Star wins tend to be streaky. One team can win for
4-5 years or more sometimes. I can't imagine owners
(or players) agreeing to such an arrangement.
