Sorry, but that playoffs thread isn't enough to celebrate the best team in hockey for the last 10 years.
I couldn't handle that game 7 but they played the way they know how and they did it up. giguere probably didn't need to get booed but what do you expect, of course the home fans want someone from there team to win. plus it was a big battle the whole time between the two goalies, of course they are going to boo.
but fuck him, take that bullshit trophy. we got the important one, and we are proving to be the next dynasty.
way to go nj, let's go devils!!!!

HELL YEAH!!! One team down, one to go.
I agree, we need a seperate thread to celebrate. We played unbelievable last night and the Ducks couldn't do anything about it. I'm so happy I don't even know what else to say.

Congrats DEVILS!!!
Couple of questions though:
1. Did anyone think that that GUY wasn't going to propose to his Girlfriend even if the DUCKS lost?
2. Did they really need to mention George Steinbreener's name? And who will be in charge of the Devils next season?
3. How is the parade at the parking lot set up and do you need to get there early to get the best spots?
4. Do you think Daneyko is going to retire and when will they retire his Jersey? (Nice to see him in there for the game, good job Mr. Burns.

I had the pleasure of attending the game last night and it was absolutly one night I will never forget. I saw Bill Murray and I even got to sit next to Ken Daneyko's brother-in-law. He told me that it was "Danny's" last game and he felt very bad about it. He didn't want to retire but being forced to sit out for 6 games and not being signed, that there may be no other choice.
It was a great game, the guys played awesome and I couldn't be more proud. Parking lot here we come!

I was there last night and I have to say that it was the greatest event a sports fan can take in. Watching them wheel out the Stanley Cup and having a SOLD OUT crowd applauding for it really shows what hockey is all about. I stayed at the arena until 230 in the morning just to catch a glimpse of the boys after the game...
The Devils are incredible... Thank God Disney lost.
New Jersey is the place to be for sports right now and the country hates every minute of it.

And who will be in charge of the Devils next season?
An article in the Post today quoted Lou as saying he was staying with the Devils. The article also said he might not be involved with the Nets, though, and that the Devils might not be under the umbrella of the YankeeNets.
How is the parade at the parking lot set up and do you need to get there early to get the best spots?
In '95 there was an actual parade. In '00 there was no parade, probably because everyone mobbed the cars in '95. Both times they had a stage that the players came out on with the Cup. There was a decent amount of space between the stage and all the TV trucks. This is the best spot and it probably wouldn't hurt to get their early. I got stuck behind the TV trucks both times. It's not a bad spot bad but it's not as good as being right in front of the stage. They also had food and memorabilia on sale in '00, which they didn't have in '95. So bring some money for beer or food or souvenirs.

I had a good time at the celebration today. Same as in '00 except today it was in the daytime because it was on a Saturday. I got nice and sunburned at the celebration then went to the MetroStars game and got soaked. Anyone else go?
By the way, the NHL Draft is next Saturday, June 21. If the Devils have their draft day party again (the should - they have a pick in the first round this year) I'll most likely be at that too.

[font=Century Gothic][color=navy]Lou is staying with the Devils. I read somewhere today that Steinbrenner is actually considering giving him a job with the Yankees. Apparently Lou used to be a manager in the Cape Cod league, so he does have experience in baseball.
I wish I could have gone today. Unfortunately there were unfortunate cicumstances. :8|:

I saw the replay on the t.v.(Comcast 62) of the Devils celebration after I came home from my teams awards picnic in the park and a couple of notes:
1. WTF was the deal with talking to the person who followed the Stanley Cup while they were still introducing the Devils? Couldn't they have faded to that segment AFTER all the DEVILS were introduced?
2. It was funny how the crowed booed Gov. Jim McGreevey when he was talking (He declared today Devil day). It was even FUNNIER when the t.v. guy referred to him as GEORGE Mc Greevey.
3. Damn some of the DEVILS got nice looking wives and girlfriends!
4. As much as I despise Joe Piscopo, he laid it on the line with how NJ is the butt of all jokes and gets no respect by saying- "Who's laughing now." and defended the blue collar state.
5. DEVILS gave props to the fans for their support.
Congrates to the DEVILS!!
