I just wanted to share with you all my good news. On March 18th I had Gastric Bypass surgery, and not even 3 months later I have lost 100 lbs. and am off all my medications. I went from 341 lbs. to a now 237 lbs. I still have about 60 pounds to go to reach my goal but I am very proud of my accomplishment and I wanted to share it with all of you. The only bad thing is that I now have to buy all new clothes. :)

Hammer,
That's great news!! Losing weight has got to be about one of the hardest things to do and keep on doing. I wish you the very best and hope you have to keep buying smaller clothes!!

While I have never been comfortable with the whole Gastric Bypass surgery option, it is still a great accomplishment and I hope that your life is long, healthy and happy as a result.
Congrats Hammer!

i find this fascinating. as someone who is fat enough to need to lose 50 pounds but not fat enough to have the surgery..
how can the body lose 9 pound a week for that long? even if your eating very little a day, the body goes into starvation mode and drops the weight loss after the first few weeks.
was the surgery painful?
is it weird eating only 3 mouthfuls and feeling full?

Yeah it was painful, but worth it. As far as eating goes I can eat up to 4oz. per meal which isn't alot but believe me it is enough some times I can't finish. I also cannot drink anything a half hour before or a half hour after I eat. The only pain in the ass part is weighing enrything out but you get used to it. I cannot complain I am very happy with my decision and I thank everyone who has supported me, because without them this would have been much harder to do.
