Horde,

i realize that after i eat a big meal my belt gets a 'bit" tighter but after eating a decent sized meal tonight i was driving back to work and i realized my sandals had gotten very tight on my feet. they felt so tight that they were interfering with blood circulation cause i felt them get a little numb(if tha makes sense) if something goes numb, how can you feel it? but anyway, do other parts of your body increase in size besides your tummy?

certainly felt like it tonight with my feetsies...

If you ate something salty, your body could just be retaining
water which would make you feel bloated and might make your
feet swell a little, or perhaps it had to do with sitting down, and
poor circulation - you know how your feet get swollen when you
take a long plane or car ride? At least mine do.

Or maybe you just have your period. That always makes my
feet swell too.

I'm concerned. Edema in the feet may be an indication of serious vascular and/or heart problems. If your feet or ankles are swollen to the point where your sandals are tight I'd make an appointment to see your internest immediately.

If the swelling is such that after pressing the area your skin doesn't return to normal color right away, but rather remains white a few moments, it is called "pitting edema" and is even more serious. Make an appointment right away.

Unchecked hypertension (high blood pressure) can occasionally cause edema.

Lay off the salt at least until you see your doctor.

TooCute, MikeyBoy, and Horde King:

Thanks for the concern, advice, and information...

I've been keeping up with yearly physicals the past several years and i check out okay in the blood pressure dept...

my cholesterol increased and my doctor said my "bad cholesterol" was once 150 but it rose to 170 and i should take it easy with dairy products...

i recently posted a 'salty nuts" thread, you may have missed it(shucks) but I do love salt, salty pretzels, salty nuts and seeds, etc. I had eaten at Chili's when i posted this thread and question and i had the Nachos with the melted cheese which comes with sour cream and guacamole, and a crispy chicken salad, with 3 glasses of cabernet.
One thing was clear, my sandals didn't feel tight on the way there.

Again, Thanks to all for the feedback!

I KNOW this was a song on South Park, sung by Chef, "Suck on my chocolate salty balls (put em in your mouth)"
