I give it 2 thumbs up. I've already seen it due to the wonders of bootleg DVDs and I really liked it. But I must say I'm not a huge Hulk fan, meaning I don't remember the show or know anything about the comic so I was going into this with no expectations. I thought it was really well done and I loved the directing. I can't wait to hear what everyone else thinks!

What's the early word on the finished film? I have a lot of respect for Ang Lee has a director, but some of the stuff I've heard make me think that he might've bitten off more than he can chew.

I already have a special night planned around it. Beef, Beast, and Breast (We were going to call it Hulk-o-mania, but wrestling fans in the group complained more then the non-wrestling fans). Outback steak house, Hulk and then Stillettos. Okay, maybe I'm more excited about other things that night, but I'm still looking forward to it.
And I get the impression from the trailers that they did fudge up the backstory a bit. And the giant dogs are putting me off a bit, but it's still an event for me.

It's a very small part of the movie, don't even sweat it. But like I said, I didn't know anything about the backstory so I have no idea what was fudged or not, but I really enjoyed it.
And you'll have to plan a night like that again when I'm up there Hosp. I'm still a strip club virgin but I'd like to go at least once.

I liked the preview. Especially the part when Shrek throws the tank.

One of the best clubs in the country is supposed to be in Dallas. I saw it on Playboy TV once (I watch it for the articles). if only I could remember the name.
But sure, we'll figure something out, I'm sure I'll have months to plan.

I had the option to acquire one of those bootlegs, but it's a workprint and I want to see it with all the cgi finished.
I'm not too optimistic about this movie, I'm just hoping it doesn't suck.

I got that one Jon. Even with the finished scenes the cgi looked far from realistic.

I know when I saw that first little teaser, I was pretty excited to see this film. Then as I saw the cgi Hulk, I was little let down. It looks to me like the Hulk is being done just right and true to the comic book form, but that it wouldn't translate well on to the movie screen. For instance, they kept his purple pants. Purple Pants?!?!?! I know it works in comic book ink, but it seems kinda silly. Who would wear that? (Okay, there's a totally different R&F topic)
However, the more I see the commercials and get little bits, I am even more enthusiastic to see this. The Hulk is being done right. He's not the old tv-show Hulk, who struggled to lift a car or rip a door off its hinges. This one is the ridiculously powerful creature, full of innocence and rage in the same package. I'm liking this Hulk more and more!!
And Jennifer Connelly is always a winner....has been ever since Labyrinth!!:p

Now I'm starving
I'm about to turn it up a notch!

Reviews of the finished product are beginning to trickle in. And from those that I've seen and heard, the opinions range from fricking awesome to just OK. But so far noone has said it sucks.
For what it's worth, Ebert and What's-his-face reviewed it on their show this weekend. Ebert gave it a "thumbs up" and What's-his-face gave it a "thumbs way up".
The only beef seems to be with some of the CGI. But general opinion is that the story is good enough to the point where you don't really think about it.

Yeah. It looks NOTHING like the spread National Geographic did about the Hulk herds in South America.
Or the article Scientific American did on Hulk habits that had pictures of the Hulks in their natural habitat.
FUCK THE FAKE HULK. SUPPORT REAL HULKS.
