Yesterday I ran my first five-mile race since November, I didn't do that great time-wise, but I felt strong the last mile for the first time ever.

I trained by running 1 mile, 3 time a week for the past 3 three weeks. I know it wasn't much but now I'm motivated to keep going. If I complete five more races by September I'll qualify for the 2004 marathon.

I'm almost 80 pounds overweight, I'd really like to do this, does anyone think this is possible?

For being the #1 market, New York radio sucks. Aside from R & F and O & A, there is nothing worth listening to.

Now we have NOTHING!!!

See Ya, DrewP

Yes, I do. And I wish you the best of luck doing it! RUN DREWP RUN !!!

Personally, I can't even drive 24 miles without having to stop to pee.

Because I've always been a lazy bum. I hope this motivation lasts.

Too bad my job is sitting on my ass, but I run in the mornings.

It's not easy carrying all this weight. I want to increase my milage to help me lose the weight, but I have to lose the weight to increase the milage.

i wish you the best of luck!

and maybe we'll see you taking a pee on the edge of the Varrezanno(sp?) Bridge...
:)

i used to play football in brooklyn and one year on Sunday morning we were driving across the bridge from the Staten Island end and all along the other side of the bridge were guys/runners relieving themselves off the side of the bridge... i would have to believe woman had to be going as well...

it was one of the most amazing sites i have seen in my life... as we made the turn on the curve to go towards the belt parkway you looked down and saw this mass of humanity(they had just started the race) moving ever so slightly... like watching a large group of ants, at first you're not sure what it is on the ground til you really begin to focus, then you start to see the movement...

BEST OF LUCK!

Thanks.

I volunteered this last marathon, I was at the finish line in Cetral Park. Helping with anything runners needed, from directing them to the proper UPS truck to claim their belongings, or assisting with double knotted laces to helping them walk to the park exit to meet their families. Even calling translaters or medical staff if needed.

It was amazing.

DrewP - Of course you'll be able to, if you keep training as you've been doing.

You should feel really proud of yourself for making the effort and striving to accomplish this.
