Capitol Hill: What is your opinion of Ron and Fez on WJFK? I love their show. They are funny without to much below-the-belt or scatological humor? How are the ratings? Why does JFK have them do one hour during the day?

Why does JFK have them do one hour during the day?

As long as R&F don't mind doing the 11-12 hour in addition to their regular 7-11, I think it's a good move for them. It's added publicity for them and I like the pace of the hour show.

I also like the fact that they are promoting their e-mail ("Electronic mail -- mail sent electronically"). Now if we could just find a way to bring back Instant Feedback.

Springfield, Va.: Hi Paul,

When is the next ratings book coming out? I was also wondering how WJFK is going to break down their midday ratings with Ron and Fez doing the 11am-noon show. Do the ratings get broken down by hour or by blocks of time?

If you have not heard yet Ron and Fez will be making a live appearance at Dave and Busters on Aug 1. You should come down if you are free. The guys are very laid back and I think you would have a good time.

Paul Farhi: Thanks for the invite, and I'll bill you for the Ron & Fez plug. The next rating book is out July 21. Deep in the book, I think, you can find hourly ratings, but it's usually broken out in four-hour blocs (6-10 am, 10-2 pm, etc.). Any one hour of radio ratings is not particularly crucial, in any case...
