Did anyone hear that promo lifted from R&F on "The Howard Stern Show"? Yesterday Howard said: "On a very special Howard Stern." He even did the same voice as Fez!

Stern has been doing "very special Stern" comedic promos for years. I've heard tapes from his WNBC days that that was done.

Not that (even) Stern could lay claim to creating that too - ever since the mid-1980s, when every sit-com had a "very special" episode, there were people making fun of that whole concept - not just Stern.

I'm a fan of many different radio shows, including Ron and Fez (who I believe are very unique to what is out there). However, there is this OBSESSION with Stern with those that hate him that is just bizarre to me.

Do you really, really think that Stern heard Ron and Fez and thought to himself, "Hmmm...maybe I should do THAT!"

Sheeeesh!!! Get over yourself!

I wouldn't believe that anymore than I would believe Ron and Fez ripped Stern off!

Each of these shows have 4 - 5 hours a day to fill and it is within the realm of possibility that there might be some overlapping.

Ron & Fex have quickly become the best thing going today...but I've been a stern fan for over ten years, and u did not hear anything like him in New York before he started it. Imus did sucky bits and voices in between songs, and that was about it. Supposedly Steve Doll was doing a similar show in Chicago before Stern, but I am yet to confirm that.

The point is R&F are great, but give credit where credit is due. He did innovate the medium, atleast here in New York, and with out him there would be no R&F, no O&A, and yes even no sucky Don & Mike.

I got to agree that Howard was the one that paved the road for many personalities but he wasn't exactly original. He had lots of original stuff but he wasn't the one to create the medium. He was the first one to become huge on it and it paved the way. He was great before but now he is just a shell of what he was.

R+F, O+A they are tapped into the current generation - Video Games, 80's movies, current music...truth be said ...this is what many of us have grown up with.

I know Howard is pretty much done being funny, he hasn't made me laugh in years, but give credit where it's due. Gilbert Gottfried doing his "Dracula Gottfried" bit is one of the funniest things I have ever heard. Now if only they could transplant him to WNEW.

I have been listening to Howard since 1988-Ron and Fez for the last 6 mos. Howard has made me laugh for all those mornings and Ron & Fez have become my favorite eves. -so funny I don't even watch tv-they rule my eves. You can like 2 comedians at one time.
