I only caught the last half hour. Man, there seemed to be a
lot of bitterness. Bily threatened to quit. Mikey was madder
than I've ever heard him. Is this because, in a sense, it was
a vote to see who would stay with the shows when it makes
its permanent home in DC? Everybody voted for themselves,
except for Elvis. Elvis is the least likely to follow the show,
and he knows it. He also would be unlikely to come down
even if offered a job, because a guy trying to make it in
stand up is much better off in NY. Therefore, he might have
been the only one who didn't vote for himself out of
self-preservation.
I would think that it has at least some bearing on job
security, because why would it matter who got the job if all
four of them were out the door in 2 weeks when the big
move comes. Similarly, if all four were coming down to DC
why would this stupid vote cause so much bitterness? Is it
just that they just resent Wonderboy's new "Ray Wagner"
attitude that much?
So is this it? Goodbye Wonderboy. Hello Ray Wagner, the
new Warty. Goodbye Elvis, Billy and Mikey D. I certainly
hope not. While Wonderboy had his moments, the new
"team player" Ray Wagner is completely annoying. Also, Billy
makes for great radio constantly. Mikey D has great shows,
especially when discussing his show business days or his
OCDs. Elvis, like Wonderboy, has his moments of greatness.
Face facts, we're looking at change of some sort or another,
and it most likely sucks.
