i heard them talking on the floor all night about the Yankees pushed to postpone their game against tampa bay tonight in order to help them against the mets. They offically "rained out" the game twenty something minutes after a 1:05 proposed starttime...and it wasn't rainy really really hard...i mean it's like that every day now..
i know i know..umpires control the calling of the game..but they were saying (hosts not callers) that the team officals affect postponement prior to a game....not during it when the umpires do. the yankees would also provide the offical weather reports and could affect it that way..
anyway the avantage is that andy pettite gets to start against the mets tomorrow night. the yankees practicaly had today off from 2pm on...the mets had to play at miami tonight and are flying back to NY...
also i heard that george didn't want weaver starting sunday night on espn...
anyway..what do you think...did the yankees want to give themselves a little advantage?

weaver would have pitched saturday. Now it is the rotation they wanted. Pettite, Mussina and Wells.

Seems like typical Yankee bullshit to me. Sure, they are the greatest franchise known to man but come on already. Does George have that much stroke that he can essentially have a game called so they can rest and have the rotation they want? Things like this help to make baseball a joke. Have some balls man. And so you lose a few games straight, be a fucking MAN and deal. You can't be the best all the time.

yes he does and I am glad he did it. Now we got 3 of our best 4 starters going instead of Weaver.

That rain-out was a joke, an absolute disgrace. They have played through much worse weather than that, that's for sure - just go back to last Friday night against St. Louis, when Clemens won #300.
I was there yesterday, and there were still people showing up when everyone else was leaving. I saw this dad with his 2 kids trying to enter to at least get the bobbleheads they were entitled to, but they were turned away (despite the fact that they had tons remaining!)

Correction, the moral of the story is, fans are irrelevant for all teams in all sports. As long as they get your money they could give 2 shits about you.

It doesnt really matter anyway as far as the pitching goes anyway, since now Weaver should pitch the last game vs the Mets now anyway.
Mad props to Fluff for the sig and C.O.soup for hosting!
