A question that came up regarding tonight's midnight release of the new Harry Potter book. This book is being released here on the East Coast at 12:00 am. Does this mean that it is also being released on the West Coast at 9:00 pm? Or do they have to wait until midnight also?

Last Friday night, a friend of mine was given a copy of the book by a friend of his that is a children's book seller. He read the book a week before the Kiwis.

This reminds me of the release of Windows 95 at midnight. Hundreds of suckers (myself included) were lined up outside Comp USA to be sure we'd get a copy of what we hoped would be a decent OS.

Flash forward 9 years. We're still waiting.
