Eh... this post is pretty racist...but I know many who do wear that type of clothing, and especially loose clothing cause it's easier to hide their gatt, being less conspicuous and all.

Also loose/baggy clothing can be an extension of jail/prison wear, where in some joints the way the attire is worn is a sign of affiliation and/or status. This gets carried over on the street.

Extra large sized clothing is, of course, also popular with athletic teams, especially basketball. Many street gangs use specific team clothing/logos to identify their gang affiliations or specific sets, i.e Georgetown Hoyas or Cincinnati Reds.

What still baffles me though is the persistent trend for "urban" types to wear their hats with a totally flat brim (like they iron and starch it at night) and keep the hologram logo sticker underneath the bill.

That is so ghetto I just want to roll up to those homies and curve their bill for them Chairman style.

Course I wouldn't do that without my black Glock clickin point....

Answer: I know this for a fact as I have many black friends. The reason for the big bulky clothing is because they think they can hide more things under it without drawing suspicious to themselves. As stupid as that is, I am head of security for a Wholesale Club and anyone who is dressed in a big puffy jacket in the middle of June or July immediately makes me keep an eye on them. Whether they are black, white, spanish or fucking French for that matter.

And name me a stereotype for ANY race or religion that's 100% correct and you can say "that's right" about. You're talking like all stereotypes are some "forbidden truth" you're being stopped from preaching.

There are regular stereotypes (Which often are over-generalized, but have some basis in some kind of truth), and then there are negative stereotypes (Which tend to not be true, and make the minority of a group the majority). "Black males tend to be good at basketball"...regular stereotype. "Black people tend to be crackheads." Negative stereotype, and wrong. "White people often can't dance as well as blacks"...regular stereotype. "White people are all racist"...negative and incorrect stereotype.

You seem to be operating under the idea that "all stereotypes are made equal" when they clearly are not. Something like "black people carry guns" isn't even a stereotype...it's just flat-out incorrect. "Young black males are more likely to be carrying guns than other Americans" IS a stereotype based somewhat on reality. See what I'm saying? You're complaining that you can't over-generalize, which is different from stereotypes.

And why bring up Chris Rock? He's probably the most famous black comedian that "picks on" blacks in general just as much as he "picks on" whites.

And why not call racist black comics "racist?" A racist is a racist. Don't skirt around the issue by complaining you "can't" use stupid stereotypes yourself. Call it for what it is and call them out for their shit. But don't assume that somehow what they're doing makes it alright for you to say the same kind of stupid shit THEY say. Take the higher ground and don't be stupid and wrong like them.

Anyway, it can go the other way too. I went to school in Albany, NY (If you don't know where it is, it's just off the Arctic Circle). There were plenty of dumbass white frat dudes (enough to notice anyway) who went to class in cargo shorts, a ratty ass T-Shirt (usually Phish), a pair of Birkenstocks, and a beat up baseball cap (usually the Carolina Gamecocks, and it said COCKS on it- get it COCKS!?!?!?
