I've been without cable all week...

.... and I feel like I've been in a cave.

TV is basically my only form of information. I will occasionally read about current events online but it's usually when I'm looking for something specific. And I don't subscribe to a newspaper cuz, well, I just won't read it except maybe on Sundays.

So they were supposed to fix it today and I really, really hope they did or else I'm going to be pissed. I haven't even looked up sports scores cuz I rely on Sports Center so much, but, it IS baseball season so I don't really care that much. Goodness, I'm a lazy bastard.

I'm not really proud of this fact but it was driven home to me this week. Would anyone else be lost without cable?

Luckily, Alkey got me Sopranos seasons I, II & III and my house was all Sopranos all the time for about 2 months.

I have satellite and NO cable, I miss the digital cable, If my satellite goes out I still have the internet and tons of Three Stooges tapes to supress my madness,,,

to be honest i can't remember the last time my cable went out... i would say I would miss it. ESPN, CNN, and CNBC during the day and all the Movie channels at night...

a dvd and vcr only suffice for a little while... it's like the radio in the car, you can play cd's and cassettes all the time but you always get that need for some "live" talk...

Not only the T.V., but no cable modem? Listening to all those beeps and boops of dial up? I think not. Then there is the slow speed of 56K, Yikes. And I now have my phone through my cable modem. Unlimited phone calls across the country for $30 a month. I hate the Dolans, but they sucked me into there shit service with optimum online.

i did not have cable for years and had to deal with the rabbit antennea a few months ago i got cable thru the direct tv...and with all those only maybe two shows i watch

OK guys I need your help. I'm really pissed because they were supposed to fix it Monday but there was some mess up with my appointment and now I'm stuck without it until freaking Sunday.

I need DVD rental suggestions. I've read about some in other threads but give me some names. I think someone talked about a movie called 'Invincible' or something like that somewhere. Help me out people I'm desperate and I hate having to decide what movies to rent.
