Aircraft, if nit was a UFO someboy probably wouldve said something by now. Area 51 is just an underground aircraft and weapons factory, you think they would tell you if one of there secret aircraft crashed, and especially right after world war 2, hell no.

I voted for U.F.O. because I once saw this documentary on TNT about these two F.B.I. agents who sought after the aliens and one time the agents found themselves investigating a paranormal murder in a circus town and, geez, these documentaries are great because then I saw this documentary about this archaelogist who fought nazi's yet was afraid of snakes and, man, I love documentaries.

I saw a documentary where bears with hearts and crap on their chest shot out rainbows from their belly buttons or something. Man, now that's a documentary.

I think it was some type of Aircraft that had something to do with the Cold War. I have a feeling it may have been Russian. Just so everyone knows, I have no sources or info to back that up, it's just my hunch.

Something crashed in Roswell that day, no doubt. As to what, we may never know. But, there is technology out there that can put big oil out of business. Check it out.

Roswell officer's amazing deathbed admission raises possibility that aliens DID visit (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=465276&in_page_id=1770)

But last week came an astonishing new twist to the Roswell mystery - which casts new light on the incident and raises the possibility that we have, indeed, been visited by aliens.

Lieutenant Walter Haut was the public relations officer at the base in 1947, and was the man who issued the original and subsequent press releases after the crash on the orders of the base commander, Colonel William Blanchard.

Haut died last year, but left a sworn affidavit to be opened only after his death.

Last week, the text was released and asserts that the weather balloon claim was a cover story, and that the real object had been recovered by the military and stored in a hangar. He described seeing not just the craft, but alien bodies.

A deathbed confession!

I have been leaning towards the goverment aircraft story for years now - something secret at the time - and the weather balloon story was a coverup, but for some experimental aircraft we were working on.

But now... this confession... and the article makes a great point:

What's particularly interesting about Walter Haut is that in the many interviews he gave before his death, he played down his role and made no such claims. Had he been seeking publicity, he would surely have spoken about the craft and the bodies.

Did he fear ridicule, or was the affidavit a sort of deathbed confession from someone who had been part of a cover-up, but who had stayed loyal to the end?

I believe aliens must exist - the universe is too big for Earth to be the only place with life - but I think Roswell was some sort of U.S. aircraft crash that was hushed for the sake of national security. A weather balloon is preposterous given the anecdotal evidence, a Russian crash would be exploited for propaganda and there would be no reason to keep a U.F.O. crash so secret for all these years. Then again, why keep a U.S. aircraft crash secret for all these years.

hell yeh

but you know the one thing i hate ???

movies, tv, even regular people or scientists always impose human qualities on possible aliens and also say that they need what we need to survive or possible for life

who the fuck are we to think that

maybe just b/c on earth we need water to live or to have life

maybe other forms dont, maybe they drink some other liquid like we drink water or maybe they dont need to do what we do to survive

maybe they'll breathe nitrogen like we do oxygen or whatever

and they sure as hell wont look like us with just a few minor differences ( star trek im looking at you motherfuckers )

We need Mike the Teacher for this one, but I would tend to agree.(although I have no knowledge to back this up:tongue:)

If it was some sort of silicon based lifeform(I just use that because I've heard the term thrown around before), how would we really know what it would need to survive????
The very fact that it is based on an entirely different element could just throw a monkey wrench into what we think we know about how life works.
I don't see how we could "know" anything beyond theories.

But, alas, just some ramblings form an imbecile.:smoke:

I doubt any alien race would expend the resources necessary to send actual "people" on missions to visit other planets. Look at how we are exploring the universe? First we are listening with radio telescopes and looking for the known factors that enable life (water, light, warmth, rock, oxygen etc.) to exist. Then we look with telescopes. Do we send out people to check shit out? No. Why would they? Sure we want to go to Mars, but only if we see real proof through probes and landers that the trip will be worth it. A mission within our own solar system is hard, can you imagine trying to get to the next star system? Alpha Centuri is 3 light years away and the closest star to us. Even if we could get to the speed of light (impossible), we are talking about a 6 year round trip. Would anyone be willing to gamble like that? So far, this closest star to us has none of the planets that would seem to harbor life... Next one after that is like 10 light years away...

=

True but thats for the sense of narrative, not scientific accuracy, and in the arts, narrative always trumps science, hence, noisy explosions in space, lasers you shouldnt really see...

But getting back, ya we tend to do the anthropmorphosizing [sp?] coz we only have one form of life to look at one earth. As diverse as it all is; it's all the same at the molecualr level. Carbon seems to win out in the race for the Master Atom. It's a great atom for bonding with 4 valence e-'s hence something like 99%+ of compounds on earth contain carbon [but of course you all know this...]

There are other candidate atoms, like silicon, which I think was the basis of the crystal lifeforem Crichton used in The Andromda Strain; anyway a great example of a lifeform that departs wildly with ours, and is not outside the realm.

=

I doubt any alien race would expend the resources necessary to send actual "people" on missions to visit other planets. Look at how we are exploring the universe?

=

Really? I don't see why not, or why; but i might dare to venture life itself is some manifestation of exploration, and hence said life should [?] be very curious about the world around them, if not why exist at all. Again, I/we all put human-like qualities to the debate...

I'd like to imagine if big intelligent things with hi tech are out there, and may be looking around, but the distances are so huge barring faster then light speed travel [and I wouldnt say impossible as fast as the next person...] that maybe nobodies found us yet.

=

(water, light, warmth, rock, oxygen etc.)

great stuff, but some life on earth needs only one of these. Some life on earth does just fine without light, warmth, or oxygen. More we explore the places we think life couldnt possible be, there it is.

=

Some very philosophical and 'clever' ideas can surface from conjecture about life. First, why? I mean, life is a pretty weird thing, about the weirdest most absurd thing I could even begin to imagine the Universe producing, and thats after I can reconcile ANY good reason for the Universe existing. Ive heard none.

=

Getting back to Roswell, the quick answer is no. Absurd. This post is long enough for now, but some of the above may bring some to see the absurdity I do for a Roswell conspiracy, or even the damn thing to even happened. Or not.

A deathbed confession!

I have been leaning towards the goverment aircraft story for years now - something secret at the time - and the weather balloon story was a coverup, but for some experimental aircraft we were working on.

But now... this confession... and the article makes a great point:

I heard all about Haut's affidavit from Art Bell on Sat. night. Pretty compelling. The weather balloon story seems like a joke to me. If not a weather balloon, then it is a UFO, an Unidentified Flying Object. If it was a weather balloon, then how does that explain the report of "victims" in General Ramey's report. A secret military plane is essentially a UFO.
So was it a domestic, foreign, or alien UFO? I'm somewhat ambivilent, but with all of the nuclear activity in New Mexico in previous years, factors come into play. Would "aliens" be interested in all of this nuclear activity. The Roswell crash certainly attracted the attention of Stalin, who flushed the area with agents. If it was a true alien crash, is the general public ready for the government to come out with full disclosure, and that we've been reverse-engineering their craft for years? I don't think so. So we end up with a press photo of an embarrassed Marcel holding up weather balloon wreakage. And I believe that, was covering up something.

what are the chances that a living "thing" in outer space can create a space craft -- using materials also found on earth -- then travel all the way to our planet -- directly to a location with military interests -- make it thru the atmosphere no less and then crash land onto a farm and have it covered up by the us government?

probably a gazillion to 1/1gazillion chance

that and the fact that they made it all the way from their home to earth with no problems then come crashing down at the end... couldnt stick the landing

back into the hole

Let me play devil's advocate. A "living" thing from outer space created a space craft--using materials found on earth. In this case, hypothetically, how do we know what their ship was made of. How can one assume that this "space craft" was made from materials found on earth. Supposedly, their wasn't a space craft to recover. By space craft you must mean weather balloon. Why would a "space craft" fly near military installations? Why did the U-2 and SR71-Blackbird fly over Soviet military installations. This was the dawn of the nuclear age and New Mexico was the hot-spot. Intelligence gathering.
And my god, a US government cover-up! No not that. That could never happen. Not a chance. As I said in my earlier post, I believe it was a UFO in Roswell, not a weather balloon. But by UFO I mean domestic, foreign, or even alien.

i do not remotely think it was an alien craft, but takeoff/landing IS where you'd have the most danger.
