El Jefe Likes To Go Both Ways!

El Jefe keeps complaining about all the Latin/Mexican references whenever his name comes up or he's in studio with Ron and Fez. He says on their show: "why can't everyone just think of me as a new radio personality and stop bringing up my nationality?" This is the same guy who constantly refers to himself on air as "the most important Latino broadcaster ever!" This is the same guy who plays entire Spanish language songs on his own show.
He admits outright that he can hardly speak a word of Spanish, yet he brings up his Mexican heritage on a regular basis. But if anyone dare play a Latino related song as a joke, he cries it's racial prejudice. Get a sense of humor El Jefe....God knows, your OWN show needs one badly.

There hasn't been one story on the local news concerning this girl, but he just had to interrupt the comedy flow of Ron and Fez to get HIS Latino reference on their show.

You already answered it yourself. The media doesn't really cover non-white girls getting yanked. If he chose to buck that trend, so what? It's his call. And this one was local, right? There aren't girls getting grabbed around here every day. Odds are this was the only one. It's not like the white girls won't get any less coverage.

I'm really wondering now who they're going to end up with on the crew at JFK, with everyone leaving. This doesn't bode well for a quality radio staff, considering who's working at the station now. They need a massive rehiring......preferably:
lots of young hot chicks who hate their fathers,

I just listened to this show. It WAS a reported abduction, or at least it was believed to be at the time that the announcement was made, so you're wrong about that.

Also, I see no contradiction in being proud of your heritage yet not wanting to be stereotyped or insulted based on that heritage. That's my perception of what's been happening. I haven't heard all of this week's shows yet, but I did hear all of last week's. I don't think El Jefe was asking that the fact that he be a Mexican be ignored, he just didn't appreciate the racial jabs from Mikey D.

I remember the show when El Jefe "broke in" with the Amber Alert. He read it just before they went to commercial. Exactly the same way that Robbay read the same announcement about an hour earlier just before Don and Mike went to break. And it was one of Buzz's stories in the "News and Comments".

I'll miss the NY crew as much as anyone else, but it seems like you're looking for reasons to hate/blame El Jefe.

Kidnap Suspect May Go to Texas


Authorities said a man suspected of abducting a 14-year-old girl in Stafford County on Friday may be heading to Texas.

The Stafford County Sheriff's Office issued an Amber Alert for the missing girl, Blanca Saavadra, who is described as 5 feet 1 inch tall, 132 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a green blouse, tan pants and white shoes. She wears rings on all fingers except her thumbs.

Authorities say she was taken at 2:10 p.m. Friday from the 700 block of Anvil Road, off Route 16, in Stafford. There were no witnesses, police said.

They are seeking Marcelino Carbrera, also known as Domingo Carbrera Pacheco, who sheriff's department officials said has a "relationship" with Blanca and lived with the girl and her grandmother. Maj. David Decatur said the girl "probably voluntarily left with" Carbrera. He was believed to be driving a light blue Honda Accord or Hyundai Excel. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 540-658-4400.



Missing Stafford Girl Found in Indiana

Officials in Stafford are making arrangements today to bring home a 14-year-old girl who was found in Indiana with a 27-year-old man who police say abducted her last week.

The Stafford County Sheriff's office put out an Amber Alert last Friday after Blanca Saavadra disappeared from her home with Marcelino Cabrera, who had been living with the girl and her grandmother for more than a year.

The girl had been having a romantic relationship with Cabrera and left willingly with him, said Maj. David Decatur, but police at first didn't know that and feared the girl was taken against her will. Cabrera is being held in Indiana on the Stafford abduction charge and will be sent back to Virginia soon, he said.

The Amber Alert helped police track the pair over the weekend through the Washington area and into New Jersey, and then friends of Cabrera helped lead investigators to a trailer home in Lafayette, Ind., where they were apparently staying with a friend of Cabrera's, Decatur said.

Officials with the U.S. Marshals Service along with local officials arrested Cabrera on Monday night and placed the girl with social service authorities. She is in good health and arrangements were being made today to bring her back to Stafford, Decatur said.

I use to dislike EL JEFE'S hideout on 106.7 wjfk on saturday nights 10 pm ..but that was just sour grapes on my part.... but i kept listening. & now, its my 2nd fave show on wjfk. meeting him and seeing how hard they (J Dubs & El Jefe) work on the RF show was pretty mindblowing. the guy is over worked and underpaid..
be thankful Ron & Fez have El Jefe helping out..
