Man, Jersey gets some PHAT PHRUIT!

I know this from my years at Pathmark as a Veggie Jockie.

Jersey really has a lot of nice fruit once our season comes in. GREAT corn! Beautiful, flavorful tomatoes. Sweet, juicy peaches and nectarines. Ever have a Musk melon? Not bad, if you get them in season! Watermelon!

And this is also the time when the little roadsie stands up in Sussex county start to have great fresh produce! Go in and see their selection of produce and some neat local crafts. Honey. Syrup.

I just LOVE this stuff! Lets hear it for Jersey Fresh Produce!!

As long as it was grown here, I'm not going to get picky!

Give it up for the Garden State!

My grandma loves the produce here in Jersey since thats basically the only stuff she eats. Im sure she would post some motha fn love for NJ's produce if she had a username here.

I dont see whats so special about Jersey produce over other states produce though. Of course the only fresh fruit/veggies I eat are like apples and cucumbers, so who am I to judge.

word up....

not sure how you tell which stuff is from Jersey, except for maybe Jersey Beefsteak tomatas... then if you ever heard the radio ad stating that 2/3rd's of the worlds eggplant comes from Jersey...

i've had a garden now for about 15 years in a row and there is one thing i can tell ya, i've never found anything better than a homegrown tomato...

last year i put in 90 corn starter plants and the squirrels got 85 of them. this year i put up a fence layed mothballs around , and got 3 plastic owls acting a scarecrows or "squirrelcrows"... i've only lost 5, if i lose any more i gotta try to find some fox urine.

As far as citrus fruit goes, you can't beat fruit so close to Mexico, it's so yummy.

But I REALLY miss Jersey corn and tomatos. Mmmmm, I used to make tomato and cheese sandwiches all the time in the summer.
