I went with Zodiac. They NEVEr caught the guy, and they're just guessing who it COULD be on these History and Discovery specials. They'll be guessing until the end of time because the guy is DEAD now, and probably didn't leave a "smoking gun" behind.

And if you like Grind, buy this Macabre CD entitled "Dahmer." They wrote a whole album's worth of music about his life up to, during, and after the killings.

Also, the BETTER album which I could not find a pic of is "Sinister Slaughter."

And seriously, Charles Manson is a PUSSY compaired to some of these guys.
And what is the facination people have with Manson? He is a lunatic. He's a HORRIFIC musician, and I am sick of him being some sort of sick counter-culture icon in some people's minds.
The guy has a swastika on his forehead in case you missed it.

Well, you should be careful to classify the distinctions between serial killer, spree killer and mass murderer. I mean, David Berkowitz is more of your spree killer and Manson was more of a henchmen, and I agree he's a total pussy and so is is family. While this entire debate is decidely macabe, the only one of these vermin I ever had a real affinity for is Richard Kuklinski, who was a mafia hitman, so falls into another classification. Made famous by the "Iceman" series on HBO, where he was featured in 3 one hour documentaries, he is a sinister sort. But he does have a matter of fact honesty about himself and his actions, and a refreshing lack of of sorry or repentance in his acts. It always rings phony to me when these monsters find God(see Berkowitz) and start crying like a baby. Kuklinski knows he did know, obviously wishes he weren't caught or incaracerated, but seems to be honest enough with himself not to try to convince himself he's any less of a beast than he obviously is.

How can you not include the famous Ed Gein on that list?
This is the serial killer from Wisconsin that Norman Bates from Psycho and Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs were both based on.
This guy was the best, completely nuts and all because of his mom...so typical.
He allegedly told the police when confronted that he was too busy and had things to do instead of being arrested
You got to check this out

I will echo Moe's statements on Macabre. I love this record. If you look close enough the album cover is a great representation of serial killers in the Sgt Peppers pose. The songs on this are classic. I need to hear more from them.
Also, check out the Serial Killers Encyclopedias, HUNTING HUMANS. Great shit.
No, I cannot pick one serial killer cause they are all just so damn huggable.

Seriously man, how could you forget good ol Ed Gein, the guy dug up graves and took off womens skin to wear, he had boxes of noses and ears and i think a belt made out of ears too. He was one FUCKED-UP dude. When his mom died he closed off the rooms she would spend time in, he was a madman.

This is the serial killer from Wisconsin that Norman Bates from Psycho and Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs were both based on.
Strangely enough, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre was loosely based on Gein as well. What serial killer has influenced American Movies more then Gein? Failing to include him in this poll was on oversight.
