It was slow to get Dave, over at DCRTV, to really give R&F a shot, but it sounds like (from today - July 2nd - "rant") that he is finally getting what we all get:
"You know, even though I run this radio/TV website, I don't spend every waking hour in front of the radio or TV. In fact, I don't much listen to the radio after about 5 PM.
So I never much got to hear Ron and Fez. Well, now that they're on in the 11 AM hour on 106.7, I have been giving them a listen. And, you know what, they're really great.
There's a refreshing radical intelligence there. And R&F are perfect in the post-Howard Stern slot. The only problem is that when you just start to get "into" their midday show, it's over.
Replaced at noon by the political ego blasts of Bill O'Reilly, who (as I've said before) doesn't fit WJFK-FM's "open-minded hot talk" format. O'Reilly belongs on a GOP infomercial outlet like WTNT or WMAL.
I am asking the powers that be at WJFK-FM to please please please put R&F on "straight" (ha ha ha) through from 11 AM until 3 PM. They are a perfect "bridge" between Stern and Don and Mike.
Then, in R&F's current 7 PM to 11 PM slot, give "El Jefe" a shot, bring back the Junks from WHFS, or import Bill and Thrill from Baltimore sister "Live 105.7"."
I have to agree - I love that one hour so much, it hurts when they switch off at noon.
By the end of the year, R&F will not only have proven themselves with top ratings in the evening (per Jafter's predictions), but they will be rewarded with the mid-day spot, where they will kick major ass!
