Ryan Adams is playing a FREE concert tomorrow at 4:00 (the opener Jesse Malin, goes on I believe at 2:30). For those of you who don't know who he is, Adams is one of the finest songwriters out there right now. If you like alt-country, and don't have plans for the 4th, I suggest getting your asses to this show.

Whiskeytown is one of my all time favorite bands and I loved Ryan in them and his early solo stuff. His GAP ads and Winona Ryder fling aside, he's become more and more of a prick as he's gotten older.

Having said that, he IS still an amazing songwriter and if he's in a decent mood he puts on a great show. Just don't shout out Bryan Adams requests. He might walk off stage as he has in the past. Seriously.

These days he just pays for the guys ticket and has security throw him out. But I'd be pissed too if I had to deal with this at every concert I ever performed.

I'm gonna try to make it to the show, but I don't know how the hell I'm gonna get into the city. Traffic is gonna be a nightmare :(
