Why do the British have such bad teeth?

I know it's a steroetype, but there is a lot of truth behind it. They look like they have Greek ruins in their mouths or their teeth are straight but piss yellow, some have both problems. Don't they have dentists over there? Is there some cause to this? Do they realize how fucked up their teeth are?

not sure but i saw a documentary one time where years ago it was "the style" to not bathe for months at a time and you were even more "da bomb" if you had head lice...

I know this sounds a little odd but science shows a direct link between bad teeth and the belief in a Monarchy. Weird. I know but science is science.

Well I know that GB doesn't fluorinate its water (although they're talking about it) -

My guess is that the biggest reason is that the British have the highest per capita consumption of sweets in the world - but then, the US is second, so I'm not sure quite why that would make so much of a difference.
