Ron and Fez the new Don and Mike of the Future?

Just think about it. I keep hearing people rag about Don and Mike, but they were a hot show at one time (you know what I mean). I know everyone complains that D&M's jokes are for the older set (who grew up listening to them when they were young) but isn't that how we are now when we listen to Ron and Fez? When the next HOT thing comes along, they'll most likely rag on us too don't you think? Another example of this is O and A is the Howard Stern of the future (yet they rag on each other). It's just like if you met yourself in the past (knowing what you know now) and tried to correct or assist yourself, your past self would most likely ignore you and tell you to get lost. I know if my future self met my past self, we'd be fighting. What do you think? That said the Ron and Fez show rock.

Don and Mike were the shit 5 years ago, they were hilarious, they owned the DC airwaves. They own them now, but something is missing, there no heart in the show. The first hour just Dons family talk and after that Don never lets mike talk, MIKE IS FUNNY, DON ISNT. Then theres Robby Spewack, hes great, but hes on a sinking ship, get him on RnF for gods sake.

RnF arent the Don and Mike of the future, they are thier ownselves, and wil pave thier own path, no travel one already done.

The difference is that R/F are actually funny. If D/M were actually funny, I'd listen. The same case goes for Tom L. and the radio chick, just not funny. Stern is actually the only dj who I once found funny, but don't now. D/M have never been funny. If you could send me a funny moment from their show when it started I'd be very surprised. So would they.

My time is valuable. And I gave them like 2 whole week chances to try to WOW me. And they failed. They wasted my time and made me wonder how these 2 inbred assholes could get their own well rated show. I feel such shame for their fans.

Actually, that's how I felt about Ron and Fez for way longer than two weeks. When they first came on to JFK, I was horrified and violently annoyed at what I considered to be an torrential suckfest of absolute bullshit. I didn't laugh once. I actually wished the station would go back to the sleepy jazz they used to play at night. I had more fun with that.

The only reason I stuck with it, was because my radio is fused to JFK. But in the end, it worked out. Now it's probably the show I enjoy the most. It took a while to understand the humor. It took a while to get familiar with all the associated people. It took a while to appreciate all the in-jokes involved.

Don and Mike (especially Don!!!!) can be incredibly unfunny at times, but it is not an unfunny show. When they are at their best they still tear me up more than any other show. Those that say they're awful haven't heard them at their best or just don't get it yet. Past their prime? Maybe. Awful? Nah.

My brother has been shot.... I think it was an Asian gang.... there was this guy.... he was Asian.... they were speaking in some different language, I think it was.... Asian.

Look they are 2 different shows.

Don and Mike talk about there family, some current events, and they do fart jokes. Don and Mike are also rude to bad callers. That being said they are also extremely popular and have had the ratings to back that up for many years in DC.

Ron and Fez are topical, they cater to a wider audience without going for the juvienile (sp) joke. When R&F get a bad caller they just hang up and move on. I love it when R & F talk about old school stuff (movies, games, sports, music, etc) from when we were kids. Ron and Fez have also proven that they can talk politics and world events. So I believe the shows are very different. The audiences may cross over I think more Don and Mike people will listen to Ron and Fez. Look for now we want as many people listening to Ron and Fez as possible.

I see Ron and Fez following in Howards, Don and Mikes, and O & A's footsteps in getting another syndication deal and then the rest of the country can enjoy the show we all love here. It starts with us on the board, we need to keep spreading the word about the show. Everyone knows that Infinity is cheap and they don't pay for advertising.

I will get off of my soapbox now.

No Ed, I will NOT give in to the lesser of the many radio EVILS. Don and Mike were about the only comedy talk radio on the whole radio at the time of day WNEW played them, and they SUCKED. Does that mean I have to listen to them because they're wacky radio talk?

Hell no. NY radio is now without good talk radio like O&A and Ron and Fez. But if Don and Mike were to suddenly return to NY, I wouldn't start listening to them because they are BAD! You cannot take away GOOD radio, then give me BAD radio and just expect me to be thankful there's ANY radio. It doesn't work that way.

My radio sits on 770 AM now, and even that doesn't really matter because I usually have music in.

When you ask yourself "who won" ask this question. Is it the guys who have to show up to work everyday, make excuses as to why they are losing affiliates or is it the guys who are being paid a gazillion dollars to sit on their asses lounge in the sun rollerblade, play computer games till 5am and know that when the vacation is over you are certain to get another job?
Secondly, there is no battle between Ron & Fez and Don & Mike. There are 24hrs in the day and as much as I'd like to think they could R&F cannot broadcast all the time. There truly is room for more than one set of voices.(No matter how bad or good) So, can we move on to more serious matters like can anyone believe wonder boy got Alyssa.. smokin!
