I'm just wondering if any current politicians have any children/relatives in the armed forces right now. I recollect that some politicians served in the military when they were younger. Thanks.

To all the terrorist out there, "Bring it on."

I'm not sure what the point of this thread is, but the answer is that very few members of Congress have children in the military. There was a report on it right before the Iraq War, and I think roughtly 8 from the House and 0 from the Senate had children in the service. Relatives, I don't know.

There is/was only one member of congress (can't remember if he was from the house or senate; he is a Democrat) whose son was in the service and was in Iraq. I will see if I can find more.

Do politicians have relatives in the military?

i'm sure many do, to show their commitment to public service. so I wouldn't be surprised if they have kids in the military.....serving as file clerks.

FORTUNATE SON

Some folks are born made to wave the flag,
Ooh, they're red, white and blue.
And when the band plays "Hail to the chief",
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord,

It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son.
It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no,

Yeah!
Some folks are born silver spoon in hand,
Lord, don't they help themselves, oh.
But when the taxman comes to the door,
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes,

It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no millionaire's son, no.
It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, no.

Some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord,
And when you ask them, "How much should we give?"
Ooh, they only answer More! more! more! yoh,

It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no military son, son.
It ain't me, it ain't me; I ain't no fortunate one, one.

It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no no no,
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate son, no no no,
