that is the question. If you were the Mets, would you want him on your team next year? What about the injury risk? What about that Met curse of getting older superstars at the twighlght of their careers (sans Piazza and Leiter, 3-4 years ago) and eventually falling on their asses?

For some reason I can not picture Vlad out of a Montreal Expos or Washington Expos'(well that is where they are probably going) jersey but if he did, would he even consider the Mets? The Mets have the funds at the end of this failure of a season (should go after Colon and Beltran IMO) but for some reason I can Steinbrenner snatching him out from under the Mets although they do not necessarily need him.

What are you peeps thinking about this one?

i know now, i was too lazy to read the last third. i say this, i dont see omar minaya payin vlad unless its to sign and trade, and then he would leave and go where he wants. i cant see him playin for the mets, but i cant see him in montreal either. on a lighter note, the braves line up is gonna be alot better next year when chipper goes back to 3rd and the outfield is andruw, sheff, and vlad.....now that should put some fear in mets fans

I am no frontrunner and leave when "the gettin's good". Fan to the bitter end and it is at its bleakest. Fan through the good times (not much) and the bad (right now is pretty tough). But I'll be the guy wearing my Met gear around town proudly.

I've been saying that the Mets should make Vlad the centerpiece for the team. Hopefully, after everyone else is traded, they can sign Vlad with the money that they unloaded. But he must be patient while we go through a year or two of rebuilding the team.
