i need help and i've noticed people on here are very opinionated about their music so i figured i'd ask.
ok i've had it with everything on the radio, and unhallowed is too hard to find. so i'm trying to get into some old sad bastard country music. i'm trying to "filshare" some on winmx but anytime i put in "country" gay shit like shania twain/dixie chicks and things of that ilk are popping up. I'm looking for old school stuff that you can almost ignore while its on but still sounds ok. any suggestions?

Quitter!
Imagine how hard it is to get played in a city with one station that plays underground Metal, and the station doesn't even come in clear in my area!
As for country, sorry man. No idea.

89.5 WSOU carguy. They abandoned a large part of their local and underground music last year too.
Weak.
Anyway the station is in South Orange and I hardly get it in Butler. And forget trying to get it in my car.

I guess getting it on Long Island isn't going to happen either.

Hey Moe. I thought that SOU was abandoning the metal format. Then someone told me that they have designated metal nights.

you could go halfway and download some credence clearwater revival. they are the happy medium of the best of country and rock.

Merle Haggard and Buck Owens, two more "old school stars".
I can't vouch for all their stuff ,but David Ball's "Thinking Problem" album and George Straitt's "Straitt Country" album are both gems.
Emmy Lou Harris has a wealth of albums.
