As stated in a previous thread, I am moving to Massachusetts. What I did not divulge was this...

After finding the perfect house in the perfect neighborhood - I found out that the town I am moving to is DRY!!!! Yes dry! No booze sold. In stores. In restaurants. Anywhere! (Gotta love these puritanical New Englanders)

To tell the truth however, its not such a big deal because its not against the law to drink in the town, you just can't buy hooch there. I will just have to drive an extra 2 minutes to local "package store" to purchase my weekly supply of beer, wine, Bombay Sapphire Gin and Knob Creek Bourbon.

It's just weird that I found out about this kinda after the fact. Hmmm....now that I think about it....maybe I'd better investigate the local sodomy statutes...

Must suck! Since when can a town make the purchase of beer illegal? Can you atleast own beer, or will you do the leagal thing and consume out-of-town?

There are a lot of dry towns in the U.S. Cooperstown, where the baseball hall of fame is located, is dry. So is Lynchburg Tennesee, where Jack Daniels is made.
