Ron's Rave Out On Billy...

Tonight at 9pm Ron "pulled the curtain back" and raved out about Billy and what a dick he was as he left, and afterwards how unprofessional he behaved.

He didn't get into details, but it sounded pretty serious, as Fez said he could see it in his face. It sounded like a private message to Billy, basically telling him to "shut the f*ck up!"

Not sure what it was all about, but it did sound like Ron thought Billy was out of line about his complaints about what he was paid, and what went down with WJFK.

He sounded legitimately pissed, which is not something you really hear.

I wasn't listening. Someone please provide a detailed transcript. Or just a really good summary. Nothing would please me more than to hear Ron really lay into Billy.

I was taken by surprise, so I can't go into details - I do know that it was a response to someone calling about the "Big Ass Topic of The Night" and they picked Billy's operation. They talked about what happened, and Fez went into detail about the party threw for himself, and Ron nonchalantly said something about the woman winning a prize, and Fez said, "HEY! That wasn't one of the topics."

Ron muddled something, and then just went off about what a dick Billy was; how Billy made a big deal about Ron teaching him to be professional, but when he left he was anything but. He went on to say how upset he was just thinking about it, and Fez said that he knew he really was, because he could see it in his face. Ron then went into about, "If I have to hear once more how you were not treated well." then added "I know what went on." and finally said that Billy was, basically, telling lies about how he was treated about WJFK.

Hope someone who tapes it can back me up here, and give some real details.

I really couldn't give a shit one way or the other, and don't want to argue about this but it seemed to me that Ron was really disappointed in Billy and his behavior. I guess we'll all have a chance to relisten today and judge for ourselves.

If anyone listens to the clip you can clearly hear the difference and my point. A transcript means nothing regarding my point. Ron paid a mere seconds worth of dialogue (regarding business) which was only brought on by his finding out about Billy's bumps and boozing. You implied this was a topic, something solely brought up on the show.

Listen, reading takes longer than listening, my transcript was of less than 30 seconds worth of audio. Ron made his point and moved on. If anyone here was in the program you would understand that Ron's words were those of a friend who was angry that his buddy relapsed. This is getting tired now. I'm with Steels, this was a tiny conversation that didn't sound to me like a condemnation of Billy's work habits, but his habits that may have effected his work. But to say what KOP said:

Hey how about we just all leave Billy alone, maybe for his recovery he does not need people to always bring up his past mistakes...Billy needs to go forward...not backwards...He is no longer on the show so there is really no reason for every1 to report back to R&F on every little move he makes...Also it is not fair that when something is spoken about him...he is not there to either confirm or deny it.

I don't care what transcript is posted. You can't judge that conversation unless you hear it. Even if you are a rocket scientist. Ronny was clearly exasperated that Billy was doing drugs and everything spilled out. Everyone knows Billy is a drama queen so when Ronny got pissed, he started complaining about everything. But they clearly emphazied the drugs. As a matter of fact, Fez reiterated that everyone was worried he would die on the table and here he was trying to kill himself.

My issue was with Steels dismissing somebody by saying "pay this thread NO MIND".

Why? Who the fuck is he to dismiss anybody?

It was brought up, it was serious. Whether it was discussed for three seconds or four hours, is insignificant. The fact it wasn't harbored on for a few segments only intensifies the seriousness of the subject considering they've spent whole shows ripping apart every person who has every worked on their staff.

Again, this has nothing to do with Billy as far as I'm concerned. He's a big boy. He can do as he pleases. People will be there for him. His relationship with Ron or Fez ain't my business.

However, nobody has the right to dismiss anything brought up on air. If you don't like how it was presented to the board, then say why. Don't be obnoxious and tell people what to think. Add your opinion. That's what grown people do.

Sorry I didn't know the deeper context in what I heard; listening it when I did, I did not hear the concern, only the anger, at what I had assumed was Billy's exit from the station, since Ron did talk about that.

It was not my intention to stir things up about Billy or create a fucking broo-ha-ha on here. I actually like Billy, and was disappointed he couldn't stick around with the show.

I heard what I thought was a moment of Ron taking himself out of the show to send a message to Billy and (even though I've listened to the show since day one here in DC) I missed the concern, and I can only imagine what others who were half listening, less familiar, too it.

KOP posts a topic relaying a show moment as he interpreted it.

The first responses were not simple alternate interpretations, he was in effect called a liar and the post was deemed unworthy of merit.

The transcript is posted and it pretty much corresponds with what was said by KOP, and the only thing up for discussion is whether or not Ron was angry or concerned, which is pretty much a matter of opinion.

Some in the thread agree with KOP others do not. That is not the point. The point is that he did not grossly exagerate anything. He is owed an apology.

And yes, this board is really sucky at times. It also smells. I suggest some posters start using baby wipes to clean off all the shit spewing out of their various orifices.

Back when I used to listen to Ron & Fez, when they were on the air in NYC, I always thought of Billy "Hines" Staples as an oafish pig of a man.

I still do. He was always full o' hot air. And always trying to be so Long Islandesque. His swallowing and gulping before his prepared speeches always made me retch. He was so false. His persona is more comfortable in the guise of a woman - he always seemed to play the part of the fat lady hairdresser, please don't let her be the one to handle the shampooing today, oh gaw.

Billy is a total failure. And he molested that girl in his car - lest anyone forget.

The transcript is posted and it pretty much corresponds with what was said by KOP, and the only thing up for discussion is whether or not Ron was angry or concerned, which is pretty much a matter of opinion.


Silera, That isn't true. I got the same impression from the initial post. I was shocked and listened to my recording. There is significant information missing from that post which gives the wrong impression. I have reread it several times. The major emphasis on the show was Billy's relapse.
If you need the segment to listen to, PM me and I will download it to you. The majority of the people on this thread were completely respectful. I mean come on, everythread has someone being critical. Who is he to be immuned from a sharp post.



Some in the thread agree with KOP others do not. That is not the point. The point is that he did not grossly exagerate anything. He is owed an apology.

He didnt sound pissed to me at all. He sounded as pissed as he did whenever theyd be raggin on Billy about how slow he was or whatever, when he was on the show. Also you said fez had said that he could see it in his face, implying that they were both being serious with no joking when in reality, Fez was laughing the whole time and I belive he said" I'm looking at your face, this is so funny"
