that may all be true James, and I agree with you but this old man was actually a pretty good driver. he was able to burst through a baracade and keep control of the car as he ran over people and had them bouncing of the hood and even the roof of the car

This is hideous. I lived four blocks from the scene when I was a kid, on the corner of 7th and Arizona. I used to buy MAD magazines in a used bookstore in the 3rd street market and I remember seeing "Superman" "Love at First Bite", "Meatballs" and "The Life of Brian" at the $1.50 matinees there. I walked these exact blocks about a million times to the beach in my corduroi OPs and checkered Vans. What a shitty way to be taken down memory lane - over human speedbumps with Mr. McGoo. (He was white BTW) Doesn't everybody jump out of the way when this happens in the movies?

It has nothing to do with being PC or not. It's just impractical and too short term. Studies show that people born these days are probably going to live to be 100 or more. As we start living and staying healthier longer, 65 is quickly going to be WAY too "young" an age to enact those kinds of laws.

But I do like your second idea. Of course, to do that and have it work, they need to STOP closing every other friggin' DMV around here each year.

My point is that there are competent drivers over the age of 65 who shouldn't have to take a test. It is discriminatory to say "Well old timer, it's you 65th birthday, you know what that means..." All I'm saying is that there should be a uniform policy for all people. (In the process we can weed out some of the starfish that currently populate the highways of this great nation).
