Following Kucinich's five-minute speech, the moderator goaded him to offer an official apology, saying: "We have heard the explanation, does the congressman need to say something else?"

Kucinich replied: "I'm very sorry I wasn't able to be here, amazing grace, how sweet it is, once was lost, now I'm found."
Amazing grace?! This guy wants to be President of the United States and he lets a NAACP moderator punk him out? That moderator sounds like Kucinich's mom scolding him! Gephardt was only marginally better with:
"I'm sorry I was not here when you had the joint appearance the other night," the Missouri congressman and former House Minority leader said. "I had a long standing conflict that I could not get out of and I apologize to all of you for not being here and I thank you for letting me be here."

Look at him trip all over himself. No wonder he can't get anyone to contribute to his campaign.

Is anyone else bothered by this? These are the types of guys the Democratic Party is offering us to stand up to other world leaders with? Of course I am voting for Bush, but does anyone else know for sure who they are going for yet? I have a friend who likes Dean, but he seems too hot-headed, plus people in his state pay $0.33 for every dollar they make in taxes. Insane! Who are you looking to vote for and why?

I find it funny watching these guys cowtow to the NAACP because they so desperately need the black vote to get elected. I remember Al Gore sounding like a black preacher when he addressed the NAACP in the 2000 campaign. You'd think that the audience would have found that racist and patronizing.
